Gorification 01.06.11	ive always liked halo, probably because thats what i started out with. i also think it takes more skill than cod does, and i like playing games that take skill. so halo wins in my book. although i still think cod is awesome.

Kubrick 01.06.11	Personally I like Halo multiplayer a lot more than CoD because it's more competitive. Everyone starts with the same weapons so it's really more about map control and teamwork rather than perks and leveling up your guy to get better weapons. I also think that it's way too easy to get a kill in CoD... like most of the the time the only thing that determines if you get a kill is if you see someone before they see you. A system like this rewards hiding and simply waiting for people to walk by rather than playing aggressively. In Halo it takes many more shots to kill someone so player that sees and hits you first can potentially still lose if you have better aim or have a good teammate that jumps in to save you. Honestly the single player in both of them suck pretty bad (half-life definitely proves that).

Kubrick 01.06.11	Have you played half-life 2? I didn't buy black ops so I haven't played the single player in that one. I've played the MW2 single player and yeah it was pretty fun... but it's clear in games like halo and CoD that the single player isn't meant to be the meat of the game. The longevity of those games are determined by how well balanced and fun the multiplayer is. Games like half-life on the other hand are built to be a single player experience.. and thus are much more fully realized. Whereas halo and CoD single player essentially amount to clearing an area of enemies over and over and over, shooters like half-life actually have a sense of progression and involvement in the story. The MW2 single player was fun, but really didn't feel like anything more than a glorified arcade shooter.

Acanthus 01.06.11	Halo vs. CoD Half-Life wins [2] I will forever hate all the hype that COD garners, Modern Warfare was unique and since then it's been a recycled (however prettily) concept with movie style set pieces. Sure it's not bad, and can be quite fun story wise, but I'll be d@mned if bunny hoping doesn't get old fast.
