02.04.11 | Thanks. Aside from all of the matchup factors, I can already smell the media jerking off to the story of Rodgers acheiving the Pinnacle the same year Favre met his downfall. I mean come on, how is this story going to play out? The accused rapist whos already won 2, or the feel good story, the good guy Rodgers, achieving glory at the greatest possible time.

02.04.11 | Its like the time the NFL compeltely rigged a Super Bowl so Jerome Bettis could win in his hometown. yeah, I said it. I really like the Steelers and will probably be rooting for them but you can't deny that Seahawks game was straight up fucking fixed. |
Hawks
02.04.11 | I just think the Steelers defense will be too much for him. Even if they spread them out and exploit their weak secondary, they're gonna get way too much pressure on Rodgers. And while he's a mobile quarterback I just don't think he can escape all night. The Packers have a great defense too, but Ben is clutch in these types of situations. Even though his Super Bowl stats aren't great, he was still able to put together enough of an solid effort to lead them to two Super Bowl wins. Plus the experience factor is gonna play a huge part in the actual game I think. The Steelers have 13 starters who already won two Super Bowls. Hard to argue with that. |
BigHans
02.04.11 | Thats why its going to be low scoring Hawks, aside from what Peter King and Bill Simmons and John Clayton are saying. STeelers defense is great no question, but the Packers defense is statistically almost as good. Everyone keeps forgetting that. Add in a major kicking advantage for Green Bay, the fact the last time Rodgers played indoors he put up one of the 5 greatest offensive performances Ive ever seen, and numberous others, I just think the Pack take a close one. I can already see it. |

02.04.11 | I agree with your post about Rodgers... I can see things panning out just how you explained. It's just the "right way" in the minds of most fans of the NFL. No one wants to see the Steelers win a 3rd SB in 6 years, or Ben have ANY kind of success after all his nonsense. Rodgers is turning into the "golden boy" of the NFL it seems, and that's better than BRADY.
BUT, while I agree some calls were questionable in SBXL, I don't think the Seahawks would have won if the calls went their way. I guess what i'm trying to say is the better team did win that day, regardless of the calls. |
BigHans
02.04.11 | Yes, theres no question Pittsburgh was a better team, even though they were a 6 seed I believe and Roethlisberger had one of the worst performances in the history of the Super Bowl in that game. But Seattle could have easily won that game without the horrendous officiating. They had at least one TD called back, Pit got a gift TD on a Roethlisberger sneak that wasnt even close to a TD, they called Hasselbeck for clipping when he was acting as a DEFENDER, I mean, it was so blatantly obvious. Like big time obvious. Would the Seahawks have won on a level playign field? They could have. |

02.04.11 | Let's go Steelers, wish I could be back home in the Burgh for the game. |
Hawks
02.04.11 | Hans I agree that the Packers defense is statistically almost as good and their secondary is without a doubt better than the Steelers, but still I don't think they're going to be able to handle the Steelers linebackers all night and I think Polamalu will have a great game as well and kinda get back to form. As for Rodgers, he's a great quarterback and I actually really like him, but this game is bigger than any game he's played in thus far and I just think the Steelers experience will be the deciding factor. I feel like the pressure will be too much for Rodgers, at least this time. |

02.04.11 | Packers all the way!!! I agree that the Steeler's trump card which could push this game their way is their experience. |
