03.28.11 | Yeah, I used to love that show too.
Anyways, in response to the actual list:
Terminator 2
Hot Shots!
Backdraft
What about Bob?
City Slickers
At least after consulting IMDb ;) |
Emim
03.28.11 | Oh, and '91 |
UnnamedOcean
03.28.11 | Dude. 1992. Aladdin. Fucking Aladdin. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | In retrospect, that movie was kind of racist
But still awesome |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Citizen Kane = best movie ever. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Reservoir Dogs is better |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | I like Reservoir Dogs, but Orson Welles is pretty much the best thing to ever happen to film so Citizen Kane and all of Welles' other films win. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Artistically Citizen Kane is better, but I personally like Reservoir Dogs better.
The Godfather is the best film ever made |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | The Godfather is the shit. Unfortunately there is a handful of films that beat it. Still top 10 though. |
SloppyMilkshake
03.28.11 | In all honesty, I was disappointed with Godfather Part 2, but that's only because I was always told it's as good or better than the first. It's fantastic, but I honestly don't think it comes close to being as good as the first.
The ending is one of the best in cinema, though. |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Godfather part 2 is amazing, but it's not as good as part 1. I, too, have never understood the people who say it's better than the first film. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | That poor Fredo |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Such an amazing scene when Fredo is killed. |
SloppyMilkshake
03.28.11 | Seriously. It's amazing how one scene can make you feel sorry for a character you disliked through the whole film, and hate a character you generally liked. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | The only endings better than the Godfather part II are Brazil, and Blade Runner: Final Cut
|
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | best ending ever in a movie is Nights of Cabiria, but Blade Runner is good. I couldn't care less about Brazil, I don't like Gilliam. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | I like the ending to Lost In Translation. Its my favorite non-violent film |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | I'm no lesbian, but Scarlett Johansson is so beautiful in that movie. It makes it worth watching. And yeah the ending in the film is good. |

03.28.11 | I really like (500) Days Of Summer as well
Zooey Dechanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are awesome |
JWT155
03.28.11 | The Mighty Ducks was the best movie from 1992 fags. |
SloppyMilkshake
03.28.11 | Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind are the two greatest romantic dramas I've seen. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | I agree sloppymilkshake |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | The Mighty Ducks rules! (500) Days of Summer is excellent. |
wabbit
03.28.11 | "Blade Runner: Final Cut" it's amazing how much better it is than the theatrical version. I did a paper on it and the original ending nearly wrecks the movie.
|
Trebor.
03.28.11 | The original ending kills it
Just like Dark City's theatrical intro kills it
|
JWT155
03.28.11 | Ducks fly together. Next year for Halloween me and a few friends are gonna be the mighty ducks. |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | more people need to see Nights of Cabiria dammit. It's so much better than Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine. Though I love Eternal Sunshine, Kate Winslet is an amazing actress. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Does anyone else think the guy in Blade Runner who makes the origami animals looks like asian John Travolta? |
wabbit
03.28.11 | "Ducks fly together" basically sums up my high school experience. |
SloppyMilkshake
03.28.11 | I'll have to look up Nights of Cabiria. |
JWT155
03.28.11 | Top Gun better sums up my HS years lol |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Iceman was the hero the whole time |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | I wouldn't really say Nights of Cabiria is a romantic drama, but the main character is woman searching for true love and it certainly isn't a comedy. Though some may say that parts of the movie are funny. Also, look up Amelie it's one of the best feel good movies ever. |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Top Gun is so bad yet so amazing at the same time. Val Kilmer is the man! |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Ferris Bueller's Day Off sums up high school for me
Not enough people talk about movies on here |

SloppyMilkshake
03.28.11 | Funny you mention Amelie. I was just about to start watching all of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's movies. I need to finish up Wes Anderson though. The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, and The Darjeeling Limited down. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Wes Anderson is my favorite director
|
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | make sure to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox |
Kiran
03.28.11 | "Also, look up Amelie it's one of the best feel good movies ever."
one of the loveliest films ever made |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Seriously, it's so colorful and don't get me started on the soundtrack. Yann Tiersen is a genius. |
wabbit
03.28.11 | "(500) Days of Summer is excellent." ya it's one of my favourite even though I feel like it fails in a directorial sense as I am still in love with Summer at the end. |
SloppyMilkshake
03.28.11 | So far I'm liking his stuff. Tenenbaums was really good, and had an AMAZING...I repeat...AMAZING soundtrack. Darjeeling Limited was pretty awesome too; funniest out of those three in my opinion. And that short film before it is spectacular. The Life Aquatic was okay. It really drags through the middle though, which sucks because I loved the premise/setting.
I think I'll go with Rushmore next, I don't know. |
Kiran
03.28.11 | fantastic mr. fox and rushmore are both great as well, the only anderson film i haven't seen yet is bottle rocket |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | I kind of feel that's how it was supposed to be though. I mean after repeated viewings it's clear to see Summer wasn't the girl for him and when you look at it closely Summer wasn't a bitch. Tom was just blind to see she didn't want anything serious with him because she didn't love him. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | Tell that Mick he just made my list of things to do today |
wabbit
03.28.11 | ya I guess. Plus to be able to pull off the "autumn" name at the end and not have it crash and burn shows both remarkable directing and a remarkable ability to willing dispel disbelieve (which is what movies are supposed to do) |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | yeah and the fact that I'm pretty sure it was the directors first feature length film makes it even more impressive. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | He started with music videos, and now he's making the new Spider Man |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | I'm actually curious about the new Spider-Man movie. I actually liked Toby as Peter Parker, but Andrew Garfield is a good actor that I think he can pull it off. Anything will be better than the 3rd movie though. |
wabbit
03.28.11 | wow really? I guess guys like Spike Lee and Orson Welles were amazing from the get go too. But making a good romantic [comedy] is pretty much the hardest movie to make. As it is so multi-faceted with the soundtrack mise-en-scene editing and cinematography having to sync together perfectly to make you not go "this is ridiculous" |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | I agree |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Paul Thomas Anderson was amazing from the start too. My personal favorite director. He has yet to make a bad film in my opinion. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | I love Punch Drunk Love |
Samshine
03.28.11 | Ummm.. 1991.. Hmm..

03.28.11 | love p.t. anderson but the three hours of streamlined misery in magnolia nearly killed me. |
Trebor.
03.28.11 | John C. Reily is probably my favorite actor, and my picture on here |
vmcoia91
03.28.11 | Magnolia is amazing I think, but There Will Be Blood is so perfect. Those 2 and a half hours flew by in my opinion. |

03.28.11 | there will be blood is my favourite of his, absolutely incredible, and punch-drunk love and boogie nights are both great as well
