05.17.11 | Thanks for the welcome Hawks, I look forward to talking about music with people who know their stuff. And thanks as well Angel, black metal was the genre I was most curious about since I haven't heard much mention at all of modern stuff. Whenever I've toured with metal bands the guys always seem to be talking about the old classics. |

Mirrorthrone - Black Metal, Death Metal, Progressive
Sacramentum - Melodic Black Metal (especially Far Away From the Sun album).
Autumn Leaves - extreme and melodic death metal that will blow you away.
Eucharist - The 5th founder of Melodic death (I do count Carcass), they balanced melody and
brutality perfectly and even have their own spin on the genre.
Fear Factory is still great Sleep - Stoner metal.
Arcturus - Definitely go for the Sham Mirrors album.
Unexpect - Avant-Garde extreme metal, definitely worth a listen.
Anyways those are bands right off the top of my head. I could rec you so much more but I dont
