Uk Punk

There are plenty of decent UK punk bands at the moment, here's a rlist of my favourites. Almost all of them have some sort of release out this year.
1Crazy Arm
Born To Ruin

In my opinion the best band in the UK fullstop. Mixing punk with folk and
politics but in a pretty unique way, their second full-length is due out in
September. I can't really complement them enough.

2Bangers
Small Pleasures

Currently touring the UK with Sputnik favourites The State Lottery, they
play a Banner Pilot/Iron Chic-esque brand of gruff punk. Name your price
download here: http://bangersbangers.bandcamp.com/
3The Arteries
Dead Sea

Their second album is out in the US on Paper + Plastick, they will be touring
the UK with The Flatliners before heading over to the US for Fest (that
should roughly tell you what they sound like).

4Fighting Fiction
A Lesser of Two Evils

Mixing the folk-punk of someone like Frank Turner with the Ska/Reggae-
punk of The Clash or even just straight-up melodic punk; I have high hopes
for their debut album out in September.

5Apologies, I Have None
Two Sticks + Six Strings

Starting off as a two-piece that sounded a hell of a lot like Reinventing Axl
Rose-era Against Me!; A,IHN are now a full 4 piece who play a uniquely-
anthemic brand of punk. Another band with their debut out in the next few
months, check out their latest 7inch or free downloads of their earlier stuff:

6Random Hand
Seething Is Believing

Ska-punk with metal influences, Random hand are the Capdown of this
generation (I realise Capdown are back). I've seen them 3 times in the last
year and they put on an awesome show.

7Sharks
The Joys of Living 2008-2010

Currently on Warped Tour, Sharks seem to be attracting an awful lot of
hype after huge tours with The Gaslight Anthem and Social Distortion. They
sound (and look) like The Clash reincarnated.

8Above Them
Blueprint For A Better Time

Straddling the line between rock and punk, Above Them have the potential
to be massive. http://abovethem.bandcamp.com/
9The JB Conspiracy
This Machine

I like to think of them as the UK's Streetlight Manifesto, and that says it all
really. http://www.facebook.com/thejbconspiracy?sk=wall
10The Living Daylights
What Keeps You Breathing

Pure melodic punk (I hate the word pop-punk) with unashamedly uplifting
lyrics. Download their latest album for free here:

11The Skints
Live, Breathe, Build, Believe

More Reggae/Ska/Dub, but they have some large punk influences in there
too. Currently finishing off album #2. http://www.facebook.com/theskints?

12The King Blues
Punk & Poetry

Probably the biggest punk (with equal parts folk, ska, reggae- you name it)
band in the UK right now in terms of airplay and tours, off the top of my
head the only one on a major label too. http://www.kingblues.net/
