Dead Can Dance Albums Ranked

DCD has been disbanded since 1996 but their legacy lives on. Here's ra list of their albums rranked.rIt's true that ranking DCD albums is like admitting which of your children are your rfavorites... rTough task...
8Dead Can Dance
Dead Can Dance

Their debut album was also their most "poppy" if there's such a thing for DCD...
7Dead Can Dance
Spleen And Ideal

Favorite songs: "Advent" and "De Profundis (out of the depths of sorrow)"
6 Dead Can Dance
The Serpent's Egg

"Host of Seraphim" will melt your crusty soul. "Writing of my father's hand" is
also fantastic"
5Dead Can Dance
Spiritchaser

This is the Swan's Song album for DCD. A bit uneven but it contains my absolute
favorite back to back pair of songs: "Indus" and "Song of the Dispossessed". An
absolutely divine 14 minute piece of Nirvana. If you have a full range audio system,
crank it up. The recording quality is stupendous and the bass drum is heart-
massaging.
4Dead Can Dance
Aion

This is the most "medieval" sounding of their releases. Fantastic. The fact that
Lisa sings in over 5 languages (often within the same song) is absolutely mind-
numbing.
3Dead Can Dance
Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun

Any album that contains the divine "Summoning of the Muse" has to rank up
here... All the other songs are also fantastic.
2Dead Can Dance
Toward the Within

This is a live album that was recorded as one piece and you'd swear it was a
studio album that took 3 months to record. Exceptional.
1Dead Can Dance
Into The Labyrinth

DCD's 6th album (1993) was actually written on two continents with Perry and
Gerrard living and writing separately. Favorite song: "Tell me about the forest (you
once called home). Awesome album from start to finish.
