A Pop-punk Month

My Pop-Punk albums wore out for a while until these new releases, late september fueled my rrlibrary with old favourites and new bands from the genre, i though i'd comment on them.
1This Time Next Year
Drop Out Of Life

Impressive, that pretty much describes this release from a band that i never
considered at all, i even heard their previous release and gave up on it quite
fast. a guilty pleassure, but the whole genre is exactly that for me.
2Man Overboard
Man Overboard

The kids added some edge to their formula and left aside some of the
soft/poppier sound some of the songs on Real Talk had, this is incredibly catchy
and fun to listen to, but nothing ground-breaking (except maybe for the closer
song 'Atlas')
3Transit
Listen and Forgive

Transit released my personal favourite on 2010 Keep This To Yourself. For more
than just musical reasons, after 200 plays and just when i started to get sick of
it they announced a follow-up. After hearing the 'Something Left Behind' EP i
feared they'd lose some of their heavier side.
They actually did, but not in a drastical way and in my opinion, they found their
sweet spot, in between pop punk and indie emo, clean guitar riffing and fast
drumming. Choruses are (almost) always memorable but this album lacks a lot
of features from their previous release- like the connection between songs and
the storytelling, and gained a lot on production and overall songwritting,
diversifiying and making this a really enjoyable album
4Misser
Problems. Problems. Problems.

this is as good as it is short, which is a real shame.
i'm really looking forward to a full lenght album, since i consider this project to
be really different from any other band approach at the genre, very interesting
stuff.
5Blink-182
Neighborhoods

Even if it wasn't that bad, or maybe even slightly enjoyable, it proved to me
that Blink-182 won't ever be the same, you probably can't go back and act/write like an 18 year old
at any time i guess
