10.02.11 | lol at Radiohead on the list.
For recs, try ornette coleman - the shape of jazz to come. It gets progressively weirder from there. some of Steve Reich's early stuff is pretty out there. Autechre - Confield, Miles Davis - On The Corner, and late period Schoenberg spring to mind |
vanderb0b
10.02.11 | I definitely second Schoenberg and Reich. If you like that kind of stuff, Schnittke (particularly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7awq8UDXMY ) is a good choice too. |

10.02.11 | mad props for Henry Cow as well. The early soft machine albums are pretty avant too, as well as Lark's Tongue's in Aspic, by the peerless KC |

10.03.11 | I don't think I'd consider any of the bands on this list avant-garde. |
ShadowAmI
10.03.11 | thanks all for recommendations. zxlkho, for some reason i don't like bath as much as their other albums. to those that seem to care, i'm sorry if my definition of avant garde doesn't line up with your own. by avant garde i just meant excessively artistic or experimental. |
jefflebowski
10.03.11 | forever, you wouldn't consider Sun-Ra avant garde? |
ShadowAmI
10.03.11 | what qualities of avant garde is sun ra missing? |
HarshNoiseHenry
03.28.17 | ¡T.o.o.h! fambily. Then dripping, omnipotence, and ad nauseam. Just some lame heavy metals then there's experimental hip hop. |
