02.04.12 | I like every album from Norma Jean, their first is my least fav though. and Foo fighters it was between one by one and there is nothing left to lose. I also left out Taproot Blue Sky Research. |

02.04.12 | because some of my fav songs are on the other two? I went with what I listen to fully through, and most of it's recent. aint my 50 all time, just 50 of my favs. |

02.05.12 | Had to remake this list cuz I smoked a blunt in between making it, and my connection timed out. Definitely missed a few that should be on here, but there's over 1,000 albums I could put on a list so if you're surprised I missed a few, you're retarded.
@ Frank, why do you bother trolling my list's if you disagree with my musical taste and opinions? Is your life that lonely?
speaking of blunts...goin to smoke another one now, keep hatin, Ill keep blazin. |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | How is telling you that you left off AOJB after you made all these long-winded arguments about it redefining metal trolling? Just because someone doesn't agree with stupid, grandiose statements like that doesn't mean they are trolling. Grow the fuck up.
I'm still waiting for the proof of AOJB's divinity, by the way. |
JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | you listen to Jay Z and Minor threat, Im not gunna try an prove anything to you.
I left off AOJB because the first list I had going timed out while I was blazing, it was on the first one, I whipped up another one in 1/5th the time so I wouldn't get timed out again, and stoned ina haze left it out it's 50 of my favorites, I listen to hundreds, if not thousands of albums, get over yourself. I'm ignoring you from here on out, we clearly got nothing to talk about. |
JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | and you'll probably take that first line as an insult, but it's fully intended to point out how drastic our musical taste's are.
I find nothing appealing about hip hop, or old school hardcore. |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | Of course we have something to talk about. It doesn't matter if your browser timed out. There were still 50 albums on this list before you "edited" it, and not one of them was AOJB.
And I'm still waiting on that proof. If you're so sure of your statement then provide proof of a respected publication stating that KsE redefined metal. If you can actually provide that, I'll shut up and never comment on another one of your lists again. |

"The album is 33rd in Music Radar's list of Greatest Heavy Metal albums"
"and is featured in IGN's honorable mentions in their list of 25 Greatest Metal Albums."
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/44505/Killswitch-Engage-Alive-or-Just-Breathing/
"However, this album is still being quoted today as one of the finest moments in metal history"
http://www.allmusic.com/album/alive-or-just-breathing-r588062/review
"This is a pure metal album that seemingly has ignored any fashionable trend and instead relies solely on skill and expertise to sculpt some of meatiest heavy metal since the glory days of Metallica and Slayer"
Not to mention it spawned the beast that is Adam D who's single handedly produced almost 20 classics since then.
I aint tryna argue, if you don't consider that proof idk what you will, that took 10 minutes. |
JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | they got nominated for a grammy when they released the end of heartache, where do you think that build up came from? |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | Jethro Tull won the grammy for best metal album. Not a knock against Jethro Tull, but come on.
The Grammy Awards are a joke. That's not a good measure for real quality. KsE didn't even get nominated for what you, I, and most of the metalcore community think is their best album, so your argument is flawed. If we went with your argument that the Grammy awards are worthy of praise, KsE didn't redefine metal. The winner of the award did, not the nominee. |

02.05.12 | http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/showreview.aspx?reviewID=501
"KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 2002 magnum opus "Alive or Just Breathing" is one special album. Its release marked a defining moment in metal. The album spawned an army of imitators that proceeded to take a formula consisting of growl-n-croon vocals, kick-drum/riff syncopation, and Swedish-influenced melodies and ran it into the ground. Whether one chooses to refer to KE's style as "metalcore" (it wouldn't be inaccurate) is irrelevant."
|
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | Hell, you even said on your favorite bands list the KsE were your favorite, pre-Heartache. So how does that even support your argument? Or are you just backtracking again? |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | KsE is on Roadrunner. Jesus christ, bro.... |
JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | Jethro's solid, and I see your point,
but honestly the grammy was just making a point, how many other bands like that ever even get recognized @ that level. On top of it reviews from blabbermouth, sputnik, wikipedia, it's all coinciding with exactly what I was saying, and yeah im a lil biased on top of it, Im from the state they come from, I drank a beer with Jesse Leach, but Im not the only one who thinks this way, and youre not the only one who doesn't agree with me. Im really not tryna waste any more of my life on this arguement though. |

JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | i enver said pre heartache, I think the end of heart ache is a masterpiece as well, but I prefer Jesse Leach, everything AFTER heartache is just solid to me, nothing ground breaking.
|
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | Every record label builds up their bands in that way. I said PUBLICATION, not the band's own record label. |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | It says on your very last list, right next to Killswitch zEngage, and I quote "UP UNTIL End of Heartache." I think the prefix "pre" and that quote mean the same exact thing.
Backtracking ftw. |
JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | well, if u check my reviews I rate End of heartache almost the same as AOJB, I love that album, it's not quite what AOJB was but it's close, I meant i like everything up to that point, everything after it not so much. worded it poorly, my apologies. |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | Don't apologize. Mean what you say and say what you mean; regardless, your Grammy argument is fundamentally flawed without a basis, and you still haven't provided any proof or KsE redefining metal, much less metalcore, other than their own record label hyping up the band.
Here's what I think: you don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Simple as that. |
JustinJordan87420
02.05.12 | I posted 3 OTHER publications you ignored lol, and I meant exactly what I said, I like everything up to the end of heartache, you comprehended it wrong. It's clear you're only here to pick apart every tiny detail of someones musical taste by trying to be politically correct to the T, Im not gunna sit and post album reviews from an album that came out 10 years ago, read the qoutes, hell go read the full reviews for all I care, IT IS WHAT IT IS. end of discussion |
FrankRedHot
02.05.12 | Where did you provide 3 OTHER publications, because I see one post with a link and an exact excerpt from said link, so please. Show me the 3 OTHER publications, because I just got my eyes checked yesterday. I'm far from blind. |
