My Top 10 Electronica Albums

My personal Top 10 Electronic Albums
10 M83
Hurry Up, We're Dreaming

Rather fresh for my tastes, but it made me have great thoughts and feelings after I heard it as a whole. Not
to mention Midnight City and New Map are bone shattering. A road trip back to the 1980's this is M83's
strongest effort yet.
9Air
Moon Safari

I love this album cause it is very, very good. But I like how I can spot the influences such as Vangelis and
Brian Eno. I thank god I watched Lost In Translation or I wouldn't ever have found out about them.
8Daft Punk
Discovery

I still cannot find anything that sounds similar or anything that has blown my mind like this album did. This is
dance music for my brain.
7Bjork
Homogenic

Her best effort by far. I was skeptical about the strings mixed with electric beats....sometimes it feels good to
be wrong. Bjork's wonderful voice and the amazing sound are what makes this her strongest effort through
my eyes.
6Massive Attack
Blue Lines

This album not only got me into trip-hop, but electronica altogether. Unfinished Sympathy and Daydreaming
are really really good dance songs that trigger my mind more than my body. I pretty much ditched what I was
into before and stuck with electronica.
5Aphex Twin
Richard D. James Album

The very strange beats are what made me love this a whole lot. Sometimes different means good. I can't
even word this out right to do this beast justice.
4New Order
Substance

A collection of amazing singles from Joy Division's baby. It is sorta the beginners guide to New Order. Not to
mention there is not any sort of unapproachable material on this double album.
3Orbital
Orbital 2

This album proved that sometimes music is about how it makes you feel and how atmospheric it can be. Not
to mention Halcyon is one of the best songs I have ever let my ears take in. Orbital proved you didn't have
to be whacked out on drugs to enjoy House music.
2Depeche Mode
Violator

The most mature sounding Depeche Mode gave us their best album. It's captivating dark sound and amazing
feelings it produced will forever be in landmark in my eyes.
1Aphex Twin
Selected Ambient Works 85-92

In my opinion it's his best album. I love the fact he made it when he was very, very young. I was taken in by
the unique sound and the hilarious track names. The album at times sounds kinda distorted but that's what I
liked even more about it. Any time a 14 year old makes something this good I have the out most respect for
him. I can listen to any track any time. This album has lasting appeal and to me that's what matters most.
