02.23.12 | hmmm for Jaga Jazzist, I would say jump right in with What We Must (easily their best and imo one of the best albums ever made) but it might be a better idea to go chronologically so you can appreciate their progression. every album is a let down after What We Must. seriously so god damn good.
For Sigur Ros I would start with Ageitis Byrjun (or however the fuck you spell it) and then Takk... then ( ). ( ) is probably their best but I think you need to be comfortable with their sound before you appreciate it.
for Agalloch, probably Ashes Against the Grain. check out the song "Fire Above, Ice Below". really really good.
for Strapping Young Lad I'd go with City but I haven't heard all their stuff. |

02.24.12 | Man such varied opinions haha. I am definitely torn between City and Alien though. I feel like I'd enjoy Strapping a bit more than Devin's "solo" stuff. Agalloch I was always kind of leaning towards The Mantle.. I don't know though. I'm sure like everything else it won't matter where I start. I've listened to various things from many albums by all of these guys and I think I won't go too awful wrong. Sigur Ros does make me a bit nervous though. Thanks everyone! |
