My Top Albums.

Finally joined and thought I would create a list of albums that have always stuck out to me. Of course this is always subject to change.
15Pixies
Surfer Rosa

This was a toss up for dinosaur jr. and sonic youth, but pixies just do it better. Favorite track: Gigantic.
14The Smiths
The Queen Is Dead

I love all of the smiths discography, from their debut single to the peel sessions, with an exception of strangeways, but this feels like they were at their musical peak, it's smiths perfection. Favorite track: there is a light that never goes out.
13Joy Division
Unknown Pleasures

Dark and slow, the atmosphere alone can drive you crazy. Favorite track: shadowplay.
12 David Bowie
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

Great rock record, that's it. Favorite track: rock 'n' roll suicide.
11The Beatles
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

It's hard to only pick one, for obvious reasons. If you're not a Beatles fan you're either a liar or an asshole. Favorite track: a day in the life.
10Ty Segall
Melted

Forget Wavves, this is the real king of the beach. Favorite track: imaginary person.
9Grizzly Bear
Horn of Plenty

This was my introduction to lofi, and i hold it very close to my heart, it's very imperfect by that's what i love about it. Favorite track: don't ask.
8The Microphones
The Glow pt.2

This shocked me, it's an amazing achievement in the world of indie music, and shouldn't be missed. Favorite track: the glow pt. 2.
7Botch
We Are the Romans

It was this album, along with Glassjaw's "Worship and Tribute" that introduced me to a new world of heavy music. Favorite track: saint matthew returns to the womb.
6Gang Of Four
Entertainment!

I'm a big fan of post punk if you can't tell by now, but this band fuzes a lofi punk sound with disco so well it's hard not to get trapped inside. Favorite Track: damaged goods.
5 Death From Above 1979
You're a Woman, I'm a Machine

This albums raw, sexual, oddly danceable and rarely lets up, it's a good dance punk album and a damn fine rock album. Favorite track: going steady.
4Glassjaw
Worship and Tribute

See number 7. Favorite track: tip your bartender.
3The Sound
Jeopardy

Extremely underrated, due to being overshadowed by Joy Division, it's dark, catchy, political without being too political. Favorite track: i can't escape myself.
2Joy Division
Closer

Unknown Pleasures shaped the way i felt about life, this album shoved it down my throat and made me swallow with tears running down my face. Favorite track: heart and soul.
1The Velvet Underground
The Velvet Underground & Nico

Very generic number 1, but nfg. My only complaint is I can't stand nico, I hate her. Besides that, this album is by far the most perfect thing my ears have ever listened to. Favorite track: black angel's death song.
