Brutal Death Metal-Blasting Sickness

I'm back again with another list crammed full of shitty death metal bands that all sound pretty much the same. Today's style is something I've heard called "blasting sickness", and I really like that name, so let's go with it. This style is probably the rawest, most guttural, and purest form of brutal death metal on the planet. Bands in this style took the template laid down by bands like Disgorge and ramped up the inaccessibility to an almost obnoxious degree. The genre started in the early 2000s, formed from labels like Unmatched Brutality or United Guttural. Instead of focusing on smooth composition or technical skills, basing their templates on a Suffocation-type platform, like many Unique Leader bands of that era (i.e. Pyaemia, Inveracity, Beheaded, etc.), bands in this style focus on sheer extremity, which definitely creates a uniquely raw atmosphere.
1Baalsebub
The Sickness of the Holy Inquisition

2016: Estonian Brodequin worship featuring members of New Standard Elite band and Molesting the Decapitated worshippers, Hymenotomy. Same snare drum, which is probably what you'll hear most anyway.
2 Bane
Vehemence: The Cathartic Remnants of Chaos, Virtue and Time

2002: Another fairly obscure band, Bane was/is from California and released a totally awesome album with an unnecessarily long title back in 2002 that not many gave a shit about, but it's quite a fun little gem with a lot of cool moments and of course a good dose of blasts.
3Bloody Gore
Blood Driven Vehemence

2002: One of the first and most important Indonesian bands, Bloody Gore really elevated the level of sickness in that country. Most of the bands in the country go for a more streamlined, Cali-Gorge worship type of thing, but BG took it way past that. Pure sickness.
4Brodequin
Festival of Death

2001: Of course. The absolute masters. The band tons of other, lesser bands have tried to imitate since they released Instruments of Torture in 2000. 3 albums of the sickest brutal death metal every crafted. My personal favorite is Festival of Death, but all albums are crushing.
5ByoNoiseGenerator
Turbulent Biogenesis

2015: This is the only band on this list that could be considered anything remotely close to "progressive". BNG is basically a raw, blast-filled deathgrind project in the vein of Purulent Jacuzzi, featuring pingy snare and short songs, but also littered with strange jazzy moments springing up out of nowhere. Don't miss this one.
6Cadavoracity
Remnants of Chaotic Apogee

2015: Indonesian BDM that sounds a lot like Liturgy or Brodequin. Pretty sure they even did a cover of Dawn of Ash on their sole full length.
7Cinerary
Rituals of Desecration

2001: Classic Chicago BDM that only released one EP called Rituals of Desecration after evolving from another classic band called Incestuous. Matti Way of Disgorge, Abominable Putridity, Hydrocephalic, and Pathology on vocals, Jamie Bailey of Brodequin on bass, and Ricky Myers of Disgorge on drums. That right there should interest you enough to hunt down a copy.
8Coprobaptized Cunthunter
Failure Prosthesis

2010: Russian weirdness. Another one that's pretty similar to Purulent Jacuzzi, noisy snare and all. Sick cover of Slaves to the Pyre, too.
9Delusional Parasitosis
Ingurgitating Intestinal Rot

2014: International project signed to New Standard Elite. James Shuster of Eighty Thousand Dead, Amputated Genitals, Scatorgy, etc. on vox and Alex Mitsch of Despondency on drums. Insane predator vocals and some of the most light-speed double bass I've ever heard on this album.
10Dissevered
Agonized Wails of Disseverment

2016: I never thought I'd have a Laotian band on a list, but Dissevered have definitely earned this spot. A very young band, they just released their first full length via NSE and it is masterful in every way. Incredible transitions and genius compositions combined with the pure brutality this subgenre typifies.
11Embodied Torment
Liturgy of Ritual Execution

2015: More California BDM. Embodied Torment play a strangely dark form of blasting sickness, infusing the raw BDM formula with a foreboding atmosphere in certain parts.
12Encenathrakh
Encenathrakh

2015: Very interesting. This project is a bizarre supergroup that push the limits of extremity. It features Paulo of cult brutal death metal band Copremesis; Mick Barr, avant-garde guitarist extraordinaire; Colin Marsten of Gorguts, Behold...the Arctopus, Dysrythmia, and many more; and Weasel Walter of who-the-fuck-knows-what band The Flying Luttenbachers on drums. It's seriously some of the most bizarre and inaccessible noise I've ever heard. It's like Portal being violently buttfucked by Orchidectomy while Last Days of Humanity jacks off in a corner, watching. On top and at first listen, it's raw, blasting, guttural brutal death metal. But underneath, if you try to dissect it, it's a swirling chaotic void of angular dissonance and zero actual structure. This is it. The pinnacle of extreme music.
13Enmity
Illuminations of Vile Engorgement

2005: Completely inaccessible music from Arizona. Reviews on Metal Archives basically describe it as the worst thing ever, saying it's not even in a time signature, so that right there lets you know it's pretty good.
14Excoriation
Excoriation

2014: Russian madness. Focusing on the Medieval torture theme, this is one of my favorite albums in the style. I hope you like snare, cuz you're about to fucking overdose.
15Guttural Secrete
Reek Of Pubescent Despoilment

2006: One of the masters of the genre and one of the most long-lived, Guttural Secrete hail from Vegas and have two albums out. First album is one of the blueprints for brutal death metal.
16 Liturgy
Dawn of Ash

2004: The REAL Liturgy. Members of Brodequin and Disgorge make up the majority of this band that was once signed to the legendary Unmatched Brutality.
17Medecophobic
Pandemic of Existence

2011: Medecophobic is a German band that's been around since 2003 and are now signed to a great label, Permeated Records. Their newest piece of music is the Escalation EP from 2014 so I'm hoping for more soon.
18Neurogenic
Ouroboric Stagnation

2016: This BDM supergroup of sorts features members of Derogation, Indecent Excision, Back Door to Asylum, Cerebral Paralysis, Fleshbomb, and Posthumous Blasphemer. They ALSO have the mighty Lord Marco from Brain Drill, Anomalous, and many others on drums. It's great to hear him where he belongs, in a high velocity brutal death metal band, rather than playing drums for Six Feet Under, which is a massive waste of talent.
19Orchidectomy
A Prelate's Attrition

2008: There's no way these guys wouldn't be on here. Orchidectomy spawned one of the ugliest and most perfect albums in brutal death history, and possibly exemplify this style better than any other band.
20Pustulated
Inherited Cryptorchidism

2003: This band featured the indomitable Chad Walls on drums, one of the sickest blasters of all time, more well known for his stint in the mighty Brodequin. The first album and the split are amazing, the Haematoma album is good but a little weird. Raunchy vocals.
21Putridity
Degenerating Anthropophagical Euphoria

2011: Putridity are an Italian band that really really hate going slow. The name of the game here is sheer, skull fucking velocity, separated only briefly by guitar chugs and squealy noises.
22Scatorgy
Scatorgy

2013: Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Sounds a lot like Colombia mixed with Gutrot. Shuster on vocals here too.
23Secreted Entity
Horrifying Hallucinations of Ungodly Activities

2012: You usually know what you're getting when you buy an album cover of a guy with a minigun for an arm, and Secreted Entity do not let you down. The music is fantastic, it sounds a lot like Pustulated and Gutrot got coked up in Colombia with Amputated Genitals, fucked, and had a deformed baby, then sent it back to Cali for a better life, but it ended up just hanging out with Disgorge all the time and became this monstrosity.
24Tools of Torture
Faith - Purification - Execution

2009: One of my favorites on the list, the now defunct Tools of Torture hailed from the land of Italy, where they played torture themed BDM with some very unique, slurring vocals.
25Bowel Stew
Debridement

Bowel Stew hail from Italy, and have been releasing full-length albums since 2003's Necrocannibal Rites, to Necrocoital Amputorgy 7 years later, all the way up to 2015's Debridement, their latest slab of disgusting BDM. You know the drill, raunchy, slurping vocals and constant blasting are of course on full display here. They even pull off a wicked Brodequin cover on the newest album.
26Exaltation
Tales of Total Sickness

There's two bands both named Exaltation, one from Slovakia and one from Germany. The German band is the one on our list today, formed in 2002 and released Tales of Total Sickness in 2009 on Sevared Records. This album is weird once you dig a little deeper into it; it's complete blast beats the entire time, but placed over bizarrely thick tremolo riffs rather than chugging, grinding shit like most bands here do. A fun listen for sure!
27Gorepoflesh
Gore Fucking Corpses

Here it is, one of the most brutal, barbaric, perverted bands of all time. Their sole full-length album, Gore Fucking Corpses, released in 2009, still remains possibly one of the most inaccessible pieces of shit ever produced. An insanely rare album, I personally only know of one person who owns a physical copy of this, and that NEVER happens. GFC is an album in which the production is at the forefront; everything is borderline clipping the entire time and the bass will fuck up your entire life. It definitely creates an atmosphere that is oppressively perverted in every way. Hopefully reissue coming eventually.
28Neoandertals
Ebu Gogo Gutting The Child

I heavily debated on including Neoandertals from Estonia on this list; being an experimental brutal death metal band, including them in a list that is based on a style defined my meat and potatoes BMD played at hyperspeed, it almost felt wrong, but after a little mediation and a lot of opiate abuse, I've decided they do indeed belong here. What makes this band experimental is that they are a guitarless concept band who focus entirely on the meager and savage lives of prehistoric man, particularly their bizarre defleshing rituals and such. It sounds like a bizarre description, and it's accurate, but trust me, it's an incredible experience! This is seriously fucking caveman music, I've never heard anything sound so barbaric. Musically, it's like an extremely hollow Disgorge or Enmity. Nothing but bass, drums, and vocals present here, so without the typical guitar chugs and pinch harmonics, it creates this strange vacuum of sound unlike any other BDM band.
