| 2003 | 1 | | Iron Maiden Dance of Death
Here's a riddle for you: how can an album be comparatively one of the worst albums by the band, contain mostly filler, with even the bigger songs remaining relatively unexciting, and still manage to be a phenomenal piece of musical art? Well, the answer is simple: Iron Maiden are just that good. Dance of Death might not be their biggest album - far from it, actually - but even a "bad" Iron Maiden album is still an incredible experience of musical richness and harmonic mastery. Man, they make it look so fucking easy. I fucking love this record. | 2 | | Stratovarius Elements, Pt. 1
There's a noticable difference in quality between the better songs, the worse, and the really great ones. It's still an overall good album and I quite like it, but nothing amazing. | 3 | | Dream Theater Train of Thought | 4 | | Kalmah Swampsong | 5 | | Masterplan Masterplan
This album is okay. Pretty generic but still enjoyable, I guess. Jorn's voice is absolutelty beautiful and listening to this album is worth it just to hear his voice. | 6 | | Opeth Damnation
Same problem as Deliverance, and pretty much every other Opeth album - I like everything here but love nothing. An enjoyable album but sadly, nothing more. | 7 | | Lamb of God As the Palaces Burn
A bit uncooked, and not all of the songs here are super memorable - but then again, that have never been LOG's forte. It's a good album by a band that is not quite there yet, but the foundation is definitely present and all of the songs are still awesome, so I'd still call it a win. Solid album all things considered, great stuff. | 8 | | Neal Morse Testimony
Excellent album. A fantastic "debut" to Morse's solo career. I will definitely return to this one many times. | |
