2011 Thus Far

So we're three months into 2011, and these are the releases that have truly caught my eye (ear?).
1Woods Of Desolation
Torn Beyond Reason

This is what depressive black metal should sound like. It seems like the ideas behind Woods have been mixed together with the direction Austere was going in. Very whimsical sounding, lots of layers, and Tim's vocals, as usual, are mindblowing.
2Deafheaven
Roads To Judah

Probably the best "blackgaze" thing to ever happen.
3Beau Navire
Life Moves

Probably the best screamo band to come out of America in a long, long time.
4Daniel Striped Tiger
No Difference

Daniel Striped Tiger is as quirky and interesting as ever. Great release, really sarcastic vocals.
5Lower Definition
The Infinite Et Cetera

Lower Definition's starting to mature a bit, which is cool. Matt's vocals are a lot less monotonous here, and his lyrics aren't completely laughable anymore.
