Just putting out there a few albums that have really impressed me rlately, and hope to get some rrrmore recognition for the unknown rbands. :) | 1 | | Eden's Curse Trinity
Really fun and energetic metal album with great vocals and slick guitar
work. Fans of melodic metal will enjoy this. Download: "No Holy Man",
"Jerusalem Sleeps", "Can't Fool the Devil" | 2 | | Michael Angelo Batio No Boundaries
Fans of progressive metal and guitar albums along the vein of Satch, Vai or
Petrucci will enjoy this. It's proggy, heavy in parts and fast while
maintaining controlled and melodic. Download: "Rain Forest", "Science
Fiction", "No Boundries" | 3 | | Vinnie Moore Mind's Eye
Another awesome guitar album, fans of Satriani will definitely enjoy this.
Download "Hero Without Honor", "Lifeforce" | 4 | | Death Angel Relentless Retribution
Heavy, chugging thrash metal that's on par with 80s thrash. Really
adrenaline pumping stuff, don't be put off by the metalcor-y vocals in
"Claws in So Deep", the rest is killer. Download: "Truce", "River of Rapture",
"This Hate" | 5 | | Riverside Second Life Syndrome
Like a mix between Dream Theater, Tool and Porcupine Tree, this is more or
less an essential album for prog fans. Download: "Volte-Face", "Second Life
Syndrome", "Dance with the Shadow" | 6 | | Tony Macalpine Maximum Security
Another great fun guitar album. Very 80s in sound, this is another good
guitar album that's a lot more straightforward than Vinnie Moore or MAB.
Download: "Autumn Lords", "Hundreds of Thousands" | 7 | | Focus Focus III
Criminally under-rated band on here, this is a great prog rock record that's
fun, catchy and fairly easy to digest. Download: "Sylvia", "Round Goes the
Gossip", "Anonymous II" | 8 | | Astral Projection Trust in Trance
Been getting into Psytrance a lot recently through a few friends at house
parties, and this was rec'd to me. Really awesome album, any Psytrance fan
needs to give this a spin. Download: "Kabalah", "People Can Fly" | 9 | | Deep Purple Fireball
Not as good as the classic 2 albums it's sandwiched between, but a damn
fine listen. Hard Rock fans will love this. Download: "Fireball", "No No No",
"Fools" | 10 | | James LaBrie Static Impulse
Needs more recognition. James's voice on this is his best since Images,
IMO. Really melodic metalcore-y album that's something different for DT
fans to listen to while waiting for A Dramatic Turn of Events. Download:
"Mislead", ""Euphoric", "This Is War" | |

08.27.11 | Hmm, can't seem to get 1 & 3's art. I'm a perfectionist, so this is bugging me :S Anyway, all awesome albums I love, check em out and give them a chance :) | TheNotrap
08.27.11 | Relentless Retribution is a very cool record but the previous is better IMO
Maximum Security and Mind's Eye are classic guitar records.

08.27.11 | I keep seeing Riverside mentioned everywhere, I'll have to check it out. Sounds like something I would like aswell. | dante1991
08.27.11 | Try the Riverside "Volte-Face" song I recommended. Was one of the songs that got me into them.
