JamieTwort 10.04.14	Purling Hiss was formed by the guitarist from Birds Of Maya (who are probably less well-known around here than Purling Hiss themselves so that's probably not much help). Their early stuff is quite a lot different (and much noisier) than their current material which is much more commercial sounding but it's all good stuff.

Torontonian 10.04.14	@jamie also i have a rec 4 u. i see you really like folk. tbh, I don't much about it, but you should definetly check out Bill Callahan-Dream River. It's one of the few folk album i own but its honestly quite gr8. It came out last year.

Flat Baroque and Berserk is the best starting point I think but you can't really go wrong with any of the first 5, although I will say Come Out Fighting Ghengis Smith wouldn't be the best place to start so maybe just get the other 4 for now.
