The Third Hundred Shows
That's just it! 200-300 give or take some
Why? Because I've been obsessively keeping track since high school |
1 | | The Wonder Years No Closer to Heaven
Warped Tour 2015
Canterbury Park, Shakopee, 7/26/15
I believe this was my third and final Warped Tour, they just never felt worthwhile. |
2 | | Koji Crooked in My Mind
Warped Tour 2015
Canterbury Park, Shakopee, 7/26/15
*acoustic tent* |
3 | | Transit Futures and Sutures
Warped Tour 2015
Canterbury Park, Shakopee, 7/26/15
*acoustic tent* |
4 | | Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties We Don't Have Each Other
Warped Tour 2015
Canterbury Park, Shakopee, 7/26/15
*acoustic tent*
All I remember from this was Dan's voice being extraordinarily powerful. Good shit. |
5 | | PVRIS White Noise
Warped Tour 2015
Canterbury Park, Shakopee, 7/26/15
I remember watching this because my ex was a fan, I was actually quite impressed. I thought they'd go on to be a powerhouse of an indie pop band, but I can't even remember the last time anyone has mentioned them. |
6 | | Transit Joyride
Warped Tour 2015
Canterbury Park, Shakopee, 7/26/15
Finished off my final warped tour with the first and only *real* time I've seen Transit. They pulled about 30 people, but Joyride was the album of the Summer and it was incredible. |
7 | | Expire Pendulum Swings
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 9/4/15
Hardcore dancers being dorks as usual |
8 | | Defeater Abandoned
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 9/4/15
I think this was the first time I've ever gotten on stage during a show? This was during the time when Defeater was legitimately in my top 5 favorite bands of all time, and it was great. |
9 | | Four Year Strong Four Year Strong
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 9/4/15
Weird lineup, but a fun show nonetheless |
10 | | Reel Big Fish Cheer Up!
State Fair Bandshell, Falcon Heights, 9/5/2015 |
11 | | Death (MI) ...For the Whole World to See
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015
This was my third Riot Fest, and at this point I was still buying VIP bands and sleeping in a wal-mart parking lot. |
12 | | Living Colour Vivid
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015
I have always had a soft spot for this band, and oh man did they deliver. I was sort of blown away really; I think this was my favorite show of the weekend. |
13 | | 88 Fingers Louie Back On The Streets
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015
puttin the band back together |
14 | | Against Me! Transgender Dysphoria Blues
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015 |
15 | | Thrice The Artist in the Ambulance
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015
I believe this was on their comeback tour? I marked out. |
16 | | Faith No More Angel Dust
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015
fuckinnnnn rad |
17 | | Ice Cube The Predator
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/11/2015
This was billed as a playthrough of "Straight Outta Compton". It was more of an advertisement with like 4 songs from that LP being played with Yella and Ren. It was okay, the sound was atrocious though. |
18 | | CHON Grow
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015 |
19 | | Millencolin True Brew
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
I remember everyone haaaaating this. I have very, very little memory of day 2 though. Not sure why. |
20 | | The Damned Machine Gun Etiquette
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
I do remember this! because it was the fuckin Damned and it absolutely ruuuuuuled |
21 | | American Nightmare We're Down Til We're Underground
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
I actually have zero memory of this whatsoever, I didn't even know this happened. |
22 | | Elway Better Whenever
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
This was fantastic |
23 | | The Lawrence Arms Metropole
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
Yeah, vaguely remember this, but it was probably good. |
24 | | Alexisonfire Watch Out!
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
I DO REMEMBER THIS. I was so, so excited. I was then thoroughly disappointed when they only played two tracks from Watch Out and Self-titled. Still ruled. |
25 | | Merle Haggard Mama Tried
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015
Got whiskey drunk for this, it was pretty great |
26 | | Billy Idol Rebel Yell
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015 |
27 | | System of a Down Toxicity
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/12/2015 |

Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015 |
30 | | Doomtree All Hands
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015 |
31 | | Hum You'd Prefer an Astronaut
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015
mesmerizing |
32 | | De La Soul 3 Feet High and Rising
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015
They played like 3 actual songs and it was still one of the best sets of the weekend. Riot Fest 2015 was weak |
33 | | Cypress Hill Black Sunday
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015 |
34 | | L7 Bricks Are Heavy
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015 |
35 | | Snoop Dogg Doggystyle
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015
Snoop came out 35 minutes into his set and proceeded to not play "Doggystyle" front to back and then bitched and left the stage. I missed Tenacious D for this shit, idiotic choice on my part. |
36 | | Modest Mouse Good News for People Who Love Bad News
Riot Fest
Humboldt Park, Chicago, 9/13/2015
Yeah it was cool I don't know, I don't remember much. I do remember being exhausted and driving home in the same night. I don't remember the final two hours of the drive and it was a miracle that I didn't crash. Stupid and selfish move on my part. Yeah, Riot Fest 2015 was mostly unmemorable and was by far my least favorite venture to the festival. |
37 | | You Blew It! Keep Doing What You’re Doing
First Ave, Minneapolis, 10/25/2015
My 21st birthday! First ave were kind enough to let me in for free and treat me to a bottle of (very cheap) champagne. The dude from this band also gave me a CD and a Shirt for free, it was really nice. |
38 | | The Wonder Years Won't Be Pathetic Forever
First Ave, Minneapolis, 10/25/2015 |
39 | | Motion City Soundtrack Panic Stations
First Ave, Minneapolis, 10/25/2015 |
40 | | All Torn Up Drone Life
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 10/31/2015
This right here was a watershed moment in my life. I was transitioning a bit with what I listened to, the people I chose to hang out with, and at this time I decided to stray away from my partner because I felt unhappy. |
41 | | Days N Daze Rogue Taxidermy
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 10/31/2015
This was a large reason for my fond memories of this show. It's upsetting to be where I am now knowing some shitty things about the band, but in the moment they kinda changed my life. They burned me a CD and I immediately added them to Sputnik and put this album on repeat for months on end. |
42 | | Leftover Crack Constructs of the State
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 10/31/2015
It was just a really important night, and it was all on my favorite holiday. Hell yeah. |
43 | | Bruce Springsteen The River
The River Tour
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, 2/29/2016
The first show after ending my 2.5 year relationship. And I got to finally see fucking Bruce. It was 3 and a half hours straight of pure energy, he was absolutely incredible. |
44 | | Jared Hart Past Lives & Pass Lines
Varisty Theater, Minneapolis, 3/16/2016 |
45 | | Austin Plaine Austin Plaine
Varisty Theater, Minneapolis, 3/16/2016 |
46 | | Brian Fallon Painkillers
Varisty Theater, Minneapolis, 3/16/2016
Another one of my favorite shows I've ever been to. Brian seemed a lot happier than when he was playing in Gaslight, which was nice--exhibited a lot of charisma here. Bonus for a bunch of Horrible Crowes songs being played (and linoleum) |
47 | | FURY THINGS VHS
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 9/3/2016
I became a shut in for a couple of months, and in the summer of 2016 I ended going on a major bender of traveling and bars and clubs and a bunch of other stupid shit. Apparently it didn't involve going to any shows which is surprising to me. |
48 | | The Struts Everybody Wants
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 9/3/2016
I learned that I hated the struts |
49 | | Weezer The White Album
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 9/3/2016 |
50 | | It Prevails Perdition
Myth, Maplewood, 9/13/2016 |
51 | | Neck Deep Life's Not Out To Get You
Myth, Maplewood, 9/13/2016 |
52 | | Pierce the Veil Misadventures
Myth, Maplewood, 9/13/2016
This was an attempt to impress a girl.
It was actually not too bad |

And Laura is juuuust the best |
59 | | The Specials Specials
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2016 |
60 | | Jimmy Eat World Clarity
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2016 |
61 | | Ween Chocolate and Cheese
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2016
We ended up smoking a lot for this set, and it was just a fantastic 2 and a half hours of deep cuts. |
62 | | The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2016
I've never seen the Flaming Lips before, and I had never been too big on them. I heard their live shows were incredible, so after Ween wrapped up I decided to stay to check out the Lips. I... It was one of the most mesmerizing and beautiful audio/visual experiences I've ever had. |
63 | | The Toasters Don't Let the Bastards Grind You Down
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016 |
64 | | Fucked Up David Comes to Life
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
slaaaaaaaaaayed |
65 | | The Vandals Hitler Bad, Vandals Good
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
ruuuuuuuuuuled |
66 | | The Hold Steady Boys and Girls in America
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
It was a full play of this album, and I decided to spend all of my drink coupons leading up to this 2pm set. It was magical, I remember being arm and arm jumping and singing along to "stay positive", "constructive summer", and "Hoodrat Friend". |
67 | | The Hives Black and White Album
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
I needed to relax, and I just laid in the grass watching this |
68 | | GZA Liquid Swords
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
and I ended up just finding a new group and chilled with them for this set |
69 | | Brand New Your Favorite Weapon
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
Any time I see Brand New is a landmark moment in my life, as lame as that may be. |
70 | | Death Cab for Cutie Kintsugi
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
More like death cab for zachie, amirite?? I was very tired and this didn't really help. |
71 | | Morrissey Viva Hate
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2016
Morrissey being the enormous piece of shit that he is had the first 50 minutes of his set just be his youtube playlist of songs being played on a screen. When he did hit the stage, it was actually a pretty good time though. |
72 | | The Bronx The Bronx
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
We decided to camp out at a single stage for the entire day so we could be close for the Misfits reunion set.
The Bronx slayed |
73 | | Swingin' Utters Five Lessons Learned
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016 |
74 | | The Falcon Unicornography
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016 |
75 | | Leftover Crack Mediocre Generica
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
The one stage idea worked out because, like, all the coolest sets were there. This one was insanity, and I made a new acquaintance. |
76 | | Dee Snider We Are the Ones
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
Repulsive. I hated every second of this.
My new friend ended up leaving because it was so shitty, and instead of leaving with her I opted to stay because I'm a fool.
Fuck Dee Snider |
77 | | Tiger Army Music From Regions Beyond
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
This was a nice palette cleanser. They played no songs from their newest album, which I thought was interesting choice, but I only assume they decided that they wanted to play their more punk stuff for the festival. |
78 | | Thursday Full Collapse
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
Oh fuck yes dude |
79 | | Bad Religion No Control
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
Bad Religion is one of the best shows you could ever possibly go to, trust me. |
80 | | Underoath Define the Great Line
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
this was an impressively boring set, and it was a full hour long. It was really rough and I like underoath |
81 | | Deftones Gore
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016 |
82 | | White Zombie Astro Creep: 2000
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
This was actually Rob Zombie, but he did a full-play of this album, and it was fuuuuucking sick. It made me a bigger Rob Zombie fan, and brought me back to downloading hellbilly off of limewire in middle school. |
83 | | Misfits Static Age
Riot Fest
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/18/2016
The show I thought that I would never see, and may be the best show I have ever attended in my life. Everything I could have asked from this show delivered front to back--an hour and fifteen minutes was not enough for me. The setlist was stellar, the dancing was incredibly fun, the relationships I formed during the show were memorable, and they didn't miss a single fucking beat. Perfection. |
84 | | The Front Bottoms Back On Top
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me 10th Anniversary Tour
Roy Wilkins Auditorium, St. Paul, 10/23/2016 |
85 | | Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me 10th Anniversary Tour
Roy Wilkins Auditorium, St. Paul, 10/23/2016
an early birthday show. I only managed to get seated tickets, but it did not matter to me. This was monumental for me. The extended rendition of "Untitled" with pictures of the band over the years culminating in "Brand New: 2000-2018" legit brought me to tears. Brand New has been damn near tied with Gaslight for my favorite band since high school. It's a bit difficult to listen to them as much as I used to in the past, given the circumstances, but the fond memories from all the times I've seen them have stayed with me. |
86 | | The Crowd A World Apart
The Observatory, Santa Ana, 12/10/2016
At this point I was in a downward spiral of unchecked mental health, and after the Brand New Show I ended up "running away" and went to Salem over Halloween weekend without telling anyone. When I came back it sparked a need to run away within me. This time I told everyone what I was doing, and what I was doing was going in my car and just driving to California with not direction. I found myself in a Burbank parking lot trying to sleep and looking at my phone, when I caught that The Adolescents were playing a show the next day. I made that my goal for the day. |
87 | | The Dickies The Incredible Shrinking Dickies
The Observatory, Santa Ana, 12/10/2016
I was pretty haggard at this point after spending the previous days hiking, sleeping in the desert, and driving nonstop. But I put myself together for this show and I ended up meeting someone here, I don't feel great about it but I do not remember her name, but they were a really cool person. I met a few other people this day and it made me fall in love with LA. |
88 | | Adolescents Adolescents
The Observatory, Santa Ana, 12/10/2016
I feel like I said this a lot in this list, but this was another important show in my life for many reasons. I felt happy for the first time in a long time, I felt like I belonged here. The show was absolutely incredible, and I'll always remember the people jumping off the balcony, or the garbage can flying through the crowd, or a couple of skin heads getting their asses handed to them as they got kicked out. |
89 | | Toh Kay Streetlight Lullabies
Social Hall, San Francisco, 12/14/2016
LA was a dream, but it was time to move on.
Luckily enough I found myself on schedule to arrive at another surprise show. Streetlight was one of my favorite bands of all time, and Toh Kay never toured the midwest, so I needed to spend an extra day sleeping outside the Golden Gate Bridge to attend this campfire acoustic set. Another night where I felt incredibly welcomed and my extreme social anxiety seemed to melt away. The show was preluded with drinking, talking about pro-wrestling, against me, and getting to know new people. Everyone sat criss-cross applesauce on the floor and sang along to Toh Kay singing fan favorites and the entirety of The Hands That Thieve with a campfire projected behind him.
"A Moment of Silence" was a very poignant song for me at the time. |
90 | | Whores. Gold
Wonder Ballroom, Portland, 12/17/16
Time to MOVE ON. Made it to the disappointing city of Portland, and the anxiety of returning home was setting in. I decided I needed to get into the sold out Red Fang hometown show. So after walking from my hostel to the venue and walking in on the soundcheck and feeling awkward I went to the bar downstairs to drink and text people for tickets. 9 beers, a lot of socializing, and some bomb food and I get my ticket. |
91 | | Torche Harmonicraft
Wonder Ballroom, Portland, 12/17/16
Boy oh boy the I remember the last beer being a mistake |
92 | | Red Fang Red Fang
Wonder Ballroom, Portland, 12/17/16
FUCK YEAH.
My Phone Died and I ended up walking for a couple hours trying to find my hostel while drunk. Woke up the next morning in so much pain and I couldn't move my neck. It was really the perfect way to wrap up my roadtrip. I realized it was approaching Christmas and I needed to head back home to my family. So that's what I did, with some big pit stops on the way, but that's it for shows on this trip. |
93 | | Quiet Riot Metal Health
Medina Entertainment Center, Medina, 1/27/17
yeah this was a weird one |
94 | | The Toxenes Electric Shock
