Winter 2022

A new year it is here 12/14/21 -> 3/31/22
1Cult of Moss
Demo 2021

runescape - core. Made me nostalgic for runescape so it has that going for it. 2.5/5

2Feed
Off The Grid

hardcore/punk with grunted juvenile lyrics. Can’t hate it. 3/5

I'm Insane

IF I COULD DROWN MY ENEMIES IN THIS...

Trashcan type soundscape with undertones of “I was inspired by Lingua Ignota”...It’s ultimately a fine listen - take out the two noisier tracks and you’ve got a decent ambient field recording. 3.2/5

DROWN

4Midnartiis
Sinew of Sol

A lovely atmospheric black metal record with folk tunes between each heavy piece. 3.8/5

Rough and Beautiful Place

Bright and jangly soundscapes with only a little variation. 3/5

6Nas
Magic

Pleasant listen - thought provoking lyrics, incredibly solid beats. 4/5

Wave Gods, Meet Joe Black
7Mechina
Venator

Exciting symphonic metal. 3/5

The Embers Of Old Earth
8Shlomo Oz
fearless

israeli jazz/"world music" 3.4/5

Between The Earth and Sky, c-tar
9The Weeknd
Dawn FM

Lopatin dials up The Weeknd's 80's style to a new station - one that packs the punch of After Hours, but now features some more ethereal synths. 3.6/5

Sacrifice, Gasoline, How Do I Make You Love Me
10Dance With The Dead
Driven to Madness

3.6/5
11Soichi Terada
Asakusa Light

3.5/5
12Mitski
Laurel Hell

3.4/5

Moody, kind of atmospheric synthpop. The quieter tracks are more Mitski, but the more upbeat pop ones show that Mitski certainly knows her way around a hook.

Heat Lightning, The Only Heartbreaker, Love Me More
13Ulla
Hope Sonata

3.9/5

Incredible piece - lo-fi, acoustic, recorder piano and guitar, like a fly on the wall, field recording vibes, something to throw on to relax. something to throw on during a summer daze
14Kanye West
Donda 2

2.22.22 - 1/5

Most of the songs sound unfinished and half are just one or two unfinished ideas mashed together. Basic shit and it ain't good at all
15Trust Fund Ozu
Tribute Summon

4/5

electronic, glitch, hyperpop - Faye Fadem comes through with an incredible 25 minute journey through the Ozuverse with fun, kitschy lyrics and an overwhelming, attention-grabbing take on the hyperpop sound.

What My Angels See In Me, Tits Of Glass, Our Winter
16Charli XCX
CRASH

3.8/5

Charli the songwriter takes precedence over Charli the PC Music figurehead for the first time in like 5 years. Top 40 pastiche

New Shapes, Baby, Lightning, Yuck
17Drug Church
Hygiene

4/5

The energy and the hooks are still there. They still bring down a kick-ass wall of noise

Super Saturated, Million Miles Of Fun, Tiresome, World Impact
