Just the Jams 1

I'm bored and haven't made a list in a minute. Here's some stuff i've taken a liking to recently/revisited and liked/just simply think you should give a try. Hope you guys find something.
1Parliament Of Owls
Crow

indie/lo-fi

A small and sweet collection of indie rock/lo fi ditties. Very genuine and relaxing stuff. The cover for 'the one i love' is very nicely done and has some nice vocals to boot.

2Electric Orange
Krautrock From Hell

krautrock/psych

Aptly titled, 'krautrock from hell' is an unsettling yet wonderfully intriguing krautrock/psychedelic record. The krautrock style you may be familiar with like Can and Amon Duul is not really present here. Instead songs are far more spacious and cruise along at 'slow head bobbing pace' if you know what i mean.

3Kelly Lee Owens
Kelly Lee Owens

dream pop/electronic

A beautiful voice mixed with electronic/dream pop rhythms makes for a great combo. A little on the short side and may leave you wanting more, but in a good way.
edit: turns out when i added the mp3s to my ipod I didn't grab the last 2 songs, length is fine, whoops
(thanks yourgodisinferior aka anurbanassault for the rec)

4The Human Experience
Broken Open

electronic/world/pop

A little bit of everything on this album yet it comes together so wonderfully. Nothing feels out of place and yet every track feels unique and distinguishable. Some super catchy jams with vocals that are strangely well.. sexy to be quite honest.

5Shakti
Natural Elements

world/folk/complex acoustic

An awesome jam from the 70s. The diversity of the instruments coupled by the insane precision they are played will have Natural elements making you feel like a samurai on a mountain top and shit.

6Black Bombaim
Far Out

psych rock

Sick grooves with some hints of jazz on the first track. Really nice bass on this one too. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but sometimes you just want some well made psych rock, and this really is it.

7Bedhead
WhatFunLifeWas

slowcore/indie rock

Some lovely slowcore jams for the rainy nights. Surprised how long it took me to listen to this but it i'm glad i did. Sad but beautiful.

8Bill Evans and Jim Hall
Undercurrent

jazz

I certainly haven't listened to my fair bit of no-bs jazz so i'm not the most well versed in the genre as a whole but i'd be damned if I said this wasn't really sweet. While relatively kept at a slower/snazzy italian restaurant pace, Bill and Jim aren't afraid to let their instruments dance a little bit.

9Sweet Trip
You Will Never Know Why

indie rock/electronic

The sput hype for this band is pretty through-the-roof so I was naturally skeptical going in. While I wasn't too big a fan of Velocity:Design:Comfort, I found YWNK to be a huge step up. The female and male vocal combo works perfectly here and while the sound fits the 'hipster indie' stereotype to the ignorant ear, it never actually sounds cheesy. A ridiculously catchy and fun (albeit overlong) record.

10BARST
The Western Lands

ambient/post rock/electronic/metal

Western lands is a pretty unique album. The intriguing experimentation sprinkled about this LP is what really makes it for me. The heavier guitar centered sections seamlessly mold into daunting ambient/electronic soundscapes. Rosetta's Mike Armine contributes some vocals on Part B of the title track(s) and it's not quite in the context you'd expect.
