by the doctors of the ALCLAA Hospital and by his family in his Twitter account.
In 2010 Cerati suffered a stroke due to a descompensation after a concert in Caracas, Venezuela and had been in a coma since that day until today.

Though the chances of him getting back from the comma were practically nil at this point, this is still a huge bummer. Soda Stereo was the most influential rock band in Latin America, me and millions of people here grew up listening to songs like "Persiana Americana", "Cuando pase el Temblor", "Ciudad de la Furia", "Zoom", "De Musica Ligera", songs that even to this day haven't lost their perfect mix of pop melody and rock agresiveness, and that still get played in the radio and define lots of kids initial rock tastes down here. I guess all that's left to say is: Gracias totales, Cerati!
| | | Never was a big fan of Soda but he was such an excellent artist, sputnik should pay more attention to latin music.
RIP
| | | Seriously, fuck this. I really wanted him back. He and Soda Stereo were the pinnacle of latin rock tbh.
Fucking RIP, men.
| | | Really sad news. RIP
| | | This is fucking terrible. This man was probably one of the most important musicians in the history of latin-american rock music. Gracias totales, Cerati.

| | | He's well known because of his work with Soda Stereo, but I highly recommend his solo work, really amazing stuff.
| | | Argentina declared two mourning days for his passing, and there were huge crowds paying homage in the Legislative Palace, totally deserved tbh (hd.clarin.com/tagged/gustavo-cerati).
Faraudo you're right, his solo work is underrated, Bocanada & Ahi Vamos have some great tunes, "Puente" for example, is a fucking classic.
| | | I really love almost every solo album he put out, Fuerza Natural is a really underrated record. I had the chance to see him play that album live on it's entirety, along with some other classics, and it was probably one of the best concerts i've ever been. The man played the guitar like no other. And totally agree, Puente is a classic.
| | | Fucking RIP, men. [2]
| | | Gracias totales, Gustavo.
Q.E.P.D.
| | | Pretty cool to see that some people here know about Gustavo and his work.
