My day hasn't even started and it's now complete. Really can't wait for the new album!
|
| |
Boring, might be an "album" song, not a good single song.
|
| |
such a great unexpected news
|
| |
Nice song. We need a heavier song though, for them sick growls and screams.
|
| |
Agreed Jizz, this isn't really single material, feels more like a track that is used to create atmosphere for an album.
|
| |
They've stopped with the cutting themselves on stage crap now right?
|
| |
@Gmork89, I've heard that Kyo has largely stopped with the self-harming on stage, but he does seem to just go where his mood takes him. I wouldn't say he'll never do it again as the guy genuinely seems to enjoy clawing away at himself and smashing his face in with the mic, but as of right now he's toned that down substantially.
|
| |
Ah cool then, all of the recent live vids I have watched of them he hasn't done it. Smashing your face with a mic is one thing, those older videos though man, too much. Either way these guys are awesome.
|
| |
very shocking song can't wait for the full album it should be pretty shocking
|
| |
note the all capital lettered foreign band name as well
oh yeah the music is passable i guess but that image tho
|
| |
Betray have you tried any Dir en grey before?
|
| |
just the one song with the absolutely horrible xDDD so shocking music video
|
| |
it was OKAY
|
| |
I think it's just the J pop thing, there's a lot of emphasis on imagery and shit but fuck these guy's music is amazing. The vocalist has one of the biggest ranges ever, cleans, shrieks, and ungodly growls are just the tip of the iceberg. Uroboros is fucking golden. You need it in your life.
|
| |
You're joking around with a band that blows nuts. Won't find a band quite like these Betray.
|
| |
And agreed game, Uroboros is the best thing ever.
|
| |
"You're joking around with a band that blows nuts. Won't find a band quite like these Betray.
...
And agreed game, Uroboros is the best thing ever."
wait wtf do you like them or not lol
|
| |
I'm kinda confused as well.
Gonzo explain
|
| |
I guess it was a poor choice of words. lol
Dir En Grey blows minds. ha
|
| |
So stoked to check this out. Pumped for this album - I loved Sustain the Untruth.
|
| |
So the lesson here is that Betray needs to listen to Uroboros

Sounds like a typical towards the end of an album song by Dir En Grey. Not bad, not great.
|
| |
Agreed. Not massive on the production either, but I'll reserve judgement.
|
| |
This is nice and all, but I expected some insane moments that they pull off so well, too.
|
| |
Really liked this. Think I'll like the album version even more.
|
| |
This is so neat, Kyo has still got it.
|
| |
Those 10 second trailers are making me feel like this is gonna sound more like Withering to Death than Uroboros, but who knows really cause 10 seconds with these guys don't give you much of anything.
|
| |
They'll never top Uroboros
|
| |
i don't care if this isn't heavy, it's fucking great. DEG can pull off heavy or soft material incredibly, so i'm not complaining.
also, wtf, Betray.
|
| |
wtf comma betray what bro?
|
| |
Do you even DEG?
|
| |
This guys are like a japanese btbam but minus the goofy but fun wank and with more focused style fusing.
|
| |
Say what? lol Did you just compare Dir En Grey to BTBAM?
|
| |
First Snide comparing Maximum the Hormone to Attila and now this... kek
|
| |
"Say what? lol Did you just compare Dir En Grey to BTBAM?"
lol yeah. They don't sound anything alike but DEG mixes so many styles and genres that I think of btbam
|
| |
Difference being DEG aren't pretentious or boring.
|
| |
I like btbam but I'd take DEG anyday. I also brought it up because I know betray loves btbam.
|
| |
lol yeah. They don't sound anything alike but DEG mixes so many styles and genres that I think of btbam
Except when DEG mixes genres, it feels fluid and organic. BTBAM sticks random ho-downs and other things in the middle of technical metal passages.
|
| |
Also....Why no American release? Ugh... I think i'm gonna pre-order the deluxe edition from
cdjapan, but haven't fully decided. :
Song is good, but I imagine the full album version will be better
|
| |
What mabbit said.
|
| |
I have the deluxe on order, like. Loving the album art.
|
| |
"This guys are like a japanese btbam but minus the goofy but fun wank"
you're not helping me get into them lol
|
| |
sweet
|
| |
"Except when DEG mixes genres, it feels fluid and organic. BTBAM sticks random ho-downs and other things in the middle of technical metal passages."
I said that already
"you're not helping me get into them lol"
just fucking listen to them ya little punk lol
|
| |
I have always preferred their softer side, but the production on this sounds off to me.
|
| |
you're not helping me get into them lol
Seriously, that's an awful comparison lol
|
| |
Lol leave my awful comparisons the fuck alone, I'm sensitive
|
| |
To be fair, it was a terrible comparision.
There isn't anything to compare them by, and I'm not just saying that because they're one of my favourite bands, they really do sound like nothing else in later releases.
|
| |
They have that same unique quality Tool have. (Not a comparision.)
|
| |
I like the new track, it looks like a mix of Vanitas and Inconvenient Ideal. If anyone is interested, there is a new batch of 10sec previews: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtGItPkyHsE
Betray, if you'd like to listen to a few DEG songs just to make your opinion check those out: Different Sense, The Blossoming Beelzebub, Toguro, Dozing Green, Vinushka, Rinkaku, Kodou, Cage.
|
| |
Red soil, obscure (remake or original), macabre are honorable mentions too.
|
| |
Merciless Cult, Lotus, Child Prey, The IIID Empire, Ruten no Tou, Saku, Umbrella... I could go on, but Kleszcz and Gonzo have swell track recs, though.
|
| |
TBH I never liked Red Soil or Macabre (both versions) or the new version of Obscure. :P But yeah, there are many honorable mentions actually.
|
| |
How the hell can you not like macabre? It's so epic!
|
| |
It's good to see more sput users digging deg. Beats the regular 4 members discussing the band Ha.
|
| |
Many people consider it super epic, I gave it a chance, but Macabre never really climaxes for me, it's like 16 minutes of indifference.
|
| |
Be killer to see live though
|
| |
Their newer stuff is more consistent i think. but songs like Itoshisa wa fuhai ni tsuki, Ryoujoku no ame, and the final are classics.
The japanese version of Glass skin is incredible too
|
| |
This sounds good. I really Have been neglecting
DEG too much recently and I should relisten to
sustain the untruth, as I remember not really
liking it at the time. It's good to see rinkaku
is on here too.
|
| |
umm nah STU still sucks
|
| |
You didn't like it Jizz? I thought it was awesome!
|
| |
STU's alright but I much prefer rinkaku and this song to it. Hopefully it'll sound better in the album.
|
| |
Too many newbs here; go listen to their albums before Withering, they do exist. Solid song; good to see some restraint being used occasionally.
|
| |
Their early EPs are great, Gauze is flawless, but like 1/2-1/3 of Macabre and Kisou is generic stuff.
|
| |
