Damn, metalheads can be so critical of everything. As a long time Symphony X fan, I thought it was great! The chorus is especially good, and the transitions really work in this. Bravo! looking forward to the full album!

Neeeeeevermoooooooore

Can't let GO!

It's a rehash of old ideas but I really like it. Sounds like it could have been on Paradise Lost. The chorus is fucking fantastic, with some insane guitar work. Would have been good to have more keyboard presence but it is the single after all.

There's no fire in Allen's performance. Pretty weak overall.

I actually like that he has a refrain to his vocals, it's refreshing.

This is awesome. And sounds way less like a rehash of ideas than other stuff they've done in the past. They've had rehash issues since their debut album, honestly.

So so. The verses and solo are sufficient, I suppose, but I find the chorus very hollow and lacking.

More melodic than the last two albums, restraining the growling vocals too. It didn't blow me away, but it's quite enjoyable.

amazing how many people have flock mentality just because the first few people to comment were negative, lol

I really miss their more Neoclassical Power Metal stylings compared to this more streamlined, heavier sound they've adopted :/

Just to clarify, I'm not rejecting the album based only on this. I even kind of like this track but I was expecting more.

All around solid song. No real surprises, just Symphony X being themselves.

@Anthracks: I expected this kind of reaction on sputnik since people here actually move away from the flock mentality that you normally see on the band's fb page for instance. Hell I'm surprised I enjoyed the song since it's basically a rehashing of old ideas. But it's a cool song.

@Sabrutin: I know what you mean, but I think you should expect modern SX to release the more in-your-face song as the single.

@Omair: Yes, you are right and I agree with you. I just don't like the track that much, haha.

@Sabrutin: I totally understand, it's basically a summary of modern SX, but for some reason I'm addicted to it. Maybe I just heard it at the time I wanted an aggressive song or something. Judging by the band's comments the album will be more varied and will have older elements. So it should be better than Iconoclast and on par with PL. Which will be better than I expected (which was Iconoclast 2.0). And it's good to have SX material after 4 long years.

Enjoying this song, it's definitely a grower. Reminds me more of classic Symphony X than Iconoclast / PL, which I like greatly.

Haha JS stop being a douche

@Soccer: Yeah I don't think they'll return to that direction for a while since they'd be considered sissies amongst the metal fans. I actually hope they move things forward. If you're going to be heavy then at least include other refreshing elements.

Song isn't terrible for their lead single. All of their lead songs have been pretty much the same thing, though. While we still get samplings of the majesty of epic Russ and SyX (the title track from Paradise Lost for starters), I don't think we're going to get that V / DWoT sound ever again. This is what they do now... for better or worse.
