Surprisingly not bad for what it is.

The track itself isn't terrible, even if bands like Exotype and Beyond All Recognition do the sound better than this lot.
My real issue, however, is with that name.
Yeah, it's a great descriptor of the sound, you know what you're gonna get, it's good for shits 'n' giggles and all that jazz - BUT - there's just something so roundly cynical about the fact that it's basically a statement that your band is formed solely to take it's place as part of the trend and nothing further, like the songs become a sidequest to the fame objective.
And how do you develop and grow as a band, how do your members bring new ideas to the table if all songwriting processes are gonna be essentially 'yeah guys that bit's really well written but we can't use it because if we don't put a wobble bass drop in right in the middle the kids are gonna turn on us'?
Possibly my ire should be aimed more at the trend itself and other bands that alter their sound to fit it, because it is just as calculated to appeal to the fickle, but I guess with other bands they're reserving the right to move on from it along with the times (see: The 2nd Law).
I dunno, it just feels like they're shooting themselves in the feet by brazenly adopting a gimmick from the offset for the sake of a quick buck. They're obviously talented (even if this is a little generic), but where do you go from here?
|
| |
once you identify a musical trend as being "too stupid" you will never again really embrace popular music
may as well just go back and delve through MX-80 Sound lps at that point
|
| |
This is shit and the production is shit. The instrumentation sounds so weak and backgrounded.

"there's just something so roundly cynical about the fact that it's basically a statement that your band is formed solely to take it's place as part of the trend and nothing further, like the songs become a sidequest to the fame objective."
Or maybe they're just people having fun and making catchy music, why not? Not everyone has to be Toby Driver

Someone fix the link, use "http:" instead of "https:" please.

It's not awful but it is terribly generic, and going through TDWP's discography, I've had my fill of generic Metalcore for a while. Really, it sounds like something off of Jarrod Alonge's album.
|
| |
It really is awful, from all standpoints.
|
| |
I do get where you're coming from man, I think it just rubbed me up the wrong way.
|
| |
when self awareness goes wrong
|
| |
I think someone here should do a proper review of it. I'm not going to though. I did the Unleashing My Demons EP, I've done my quota of reviewing crap for a lifetime with that thing. Someone else's turn.
|
| |
i'm gonna put something together, this laziness has me inspired

Wow. The hater comments are lacking some serious depth. I suppose some of you lot justify your opinions because you judged a local tournament once? Maybe twice? If you're truly appreciators of all music, you would be able to bring something to table worth reading beyond "there's just something so roundly cynical about the fact that it's basically a statement that your band is formed solely to take it's place as part of the trend and nothing further, like the songs become a sidequest to the fame objective." and "I dunno, it just feels like they're shooting themselves in the feet by brazenly adopting a gimmick from the offset for the sake of a quick buck."
This may not be your type of music, but come on. Critique it in an intellectually honest (if not at least intellectual) manner. If you're going to hate the band, at least try to offer a reason why. And "because it's terrible and I'm going to say that in a trolling manner" hardly counts as expert level. A term that many of you no doubt know from Guitar Hero or Halo or COD or something game station related.
You guys got this. Let's go again. Take 2.

"Musician" confirmed for Chugchugwob Sputnik account.

in a trolling manner
|
| |
So where I said that the music wasn't bad, and they're talented counts as trolling.
I see.
Your message completely missed the point, and contained nowhere near enough substance to warrant the patronising at the end.
So, the more important question, which member of the band are you? I'm guessing the bassist thanks to the FUCKING MASSIVE chip on your shoulder.
|
| |
Cimnele, I think "quite" was the word you meant to use. Good use of "stultified" though. I see that's a word you're familiar with.
|
| |
lmao what a fucking tool
|
| |
"Christian Dubstep/Metalcore group"
Oh boy
|
| |
Their name is ChugChugWob like the clichè techniques of the respective genres. That song title and font. I can't. This is probably a comedic gold mine. Fuck it. I'm gonna listen.
|

Trust me, it's not nearly as funny as it sounds

I dunno man. The first track is already pretty hilarious
