Yet Nickelback still keep going, adding nothing to music and putting more and more money in Chad Kroeger's pockets...
In all seriousness, they're my favourite band so I'm pretty gutted about this, but I feel their last album was a good album for them to go out with.
| |
Sad news, but the right decision. They were never able to emulate the quality of the first 2 albums. Will always take me back to my youth.
| |
damn. rip!
| |
Dang, they put out some quality stuff.
| |
Kinda saw it coming but still had hope for a final album...gotta see them in Munich somehow, since I never saw them live yet. Debut and sophomore are among my favourite albums ever.
| |
Never got much into this band except "Roses for the Dead" which I really like and some other singles, but RIP. I know they have some loyal fans around.
| |
Damn this is pretty sad news. Band slayed especially on their first two and Welcome Home Armageddon. Kinda foresaw this though, they're getting less and less attention, their last album just didn't really find a very large audience. Probably the right thing to do. Gonna go give Casually Dressed an honorary spin now.
| |
RIP hard, but honestly about time
| |
CDADIC and Hours were post hardcore staples. They are a loss that will be felt.
| |
really liked Chapter and Verse tbh, rip
| |
Shame were really influential to me in the early days, especially Ryan's style of play. For me, they never lived up to the heights of their debut though.
| |
I totally have to get tickets to their last ever gig though
| |
prolly gonna cry like a baby on the gig lol
| |
Probably for the best.
| |
Glad someone else gave props to Welcome Home Armageddon, I really enjoyed that one.
| |
WHA was great, CD&DIC is a classic. I thought they would take a break for some time, Matt sounded really tired on the last 2 albums. But not break up. This make no sense, this make no sense, this make no sense at all...
| |
As sad as this is I think its for the best, last album they sounded so tired. Think its best to go out on a high rather than exhaust themselves further.
| |
One of my fav bands back in the day, hard for these angsty outfits from the 2000's to continue well into their 30's.
| |
Yeah I think its time. The new album just sounded like a band running on fumes. They put out some quality releases though.
| |
Why is everyone so sad??? Sputnik must be filled with scenecore mall skateboarders lol
| |
Gonna jam some FFAF now
| |
Boring ass band.
| |
"Why is everyone so sad??? Sputnik must be filled with scenecore mall skateboarders lol"
Yeah cuz this site is made up of about 20 people.
Realistically, when I got into these guys, I was in the 'scene,' listened to various 'core' music, worked at a mall, and skateboarded. That was also 11 years ago, so. Times have changed slightly but its still upsetting to see the bands you grew up with break apart.
| |
Casually Dressed and Hours were staples for me in High School.
| |
Hours best album evor!
| |
I've literally prayed to satan for some of the bands I liked in high school to break up forever.
| |
I feel for the demographic of a decent amount of popular bands in the 2000's, it's easy to play for teenage girls and high school kids when you're young in your 20's, but the older they get it's impossible to identify with a lot of their fans and even their own music.
| |
i liked this band and never even listened to their first two records #imacrazyboy
| |
Nothing realistically beats Casually Dressed, but Conduit and Welcome Home Armageddon were cool in their own right.
Conduit was a pretty fun album straight thru, actually.
| |
Hours is a fantastic rock record, a departure from Casually Dressed but fantastic.
| |
Yeah, I could get on board with that. Street Car and Hospitality are two of their best tracks.
| |
These guys remind me of a European Yellowcard. Thought I heard all of their stuff but they have like 8 albums lol
| |
never got the appeal
| |
Nostalgia overdrive.
If any of my friends are up for this, I'd definitely go.
| |
Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation is a pretty great album actually... I actually never really got into this kind of music (for the most part) but i always saw these guys as one of the better bands in the pop-punk/metalcore hybrid genre... Shame they couldn't follow up with at least one more album.
| |
Shit band so
| |
Not surprised but still totally gutted, shame chapter and verse is their last album
| |
thought they broke up a long time ago
| |
After the last couple of hours you can see why! Drummer problems over the last few years, Pat jumped ship to Modestep at the right time. Casually and Hours were excellent, shame funeral for a band.
Also, Maybeshewill broke up today too : (
| |
I know, fucking gutted about that one, more than FFaF to be honest.
Now I'm waiting for one more band I like to break up to complete the trio.
| |
Kinda sucks but they really felt like they were running out of steam these last few years. The bigger news is then playing casually dressed and hours in full, like how badass is that?
| |
RIP guys, enjoyed your latest
| |
Hours has some kick ass riffs
| |
When's the funeral?
| |
Pretty big part of my teenage years. Still jam Casually Dressed all the time. RIP
| |
always been indifferent to this band but still a shame
| |
When you follow up an awesome album like Conduit with their last you could tell the end was coming
| |
guess this tour is the funeral for funeral for a friend
| |
"And I'm nothing more, than a line in your book"
Lyrics I lived by when I was 15.
| |
"Not surprised but still totally gutted, shame chapter and verse is their last album"
nahhh Jade Tree Years + the hidden track is a fucking excellent way to end a career
| |
One of the best bands of all time
| |
rip
roses for the dead was my jam in yr 8
| |
I never got huge into these guys, but the first time I heard Streetcar when I was a high school idiot it seriously blew my mind. Imo that song and some of their other more popular ones still hold up.
| |
Honestly I got into this band only really in 2010 and were one of my favourites in high school, I still enjoyed their recent albums to some extent, but overall its the right thing to do as the band lost a lot of traction over the last few years. Will definitely be heading to the Melbourne shows.
| |
Damn, am I the only one who absolutely loved their album "Tales don't Tell Themselves"
Think I'm just a sucker for a concept album and big choruses. Sad to see them go but the fickle world of media attention and hype won't bother with them anymore, shame.
| |
I enjoyed Tales and I felt a lot of criticism was just because they changed their sound. There were some good tracks (Into Oblivion, Walk Away) but it was nothing compared to their previous releases.
| |
Just spun Casually.. Red is the new Black is one of my favourite tunes by them
| |
Gonna get tickets for the Birmingham shows, gonna be a big time nostalgia trip
| |
Was just getting back into them the past few days, I'm actually a huge fan of Conduit, but their first 2 are definitely their best
| |
Tales is good.
| |
Casually Dressed was one of the first post hardcore albums I ever owned.
Seeing the entirety of that live would be pretty cool.
| |
Casually Dressed is my favourite album of all time, but I'm going to be going to the Hours show rather than the Casually Dressed show since they played most my favourites from that album when I saw them live in January, and by going to the Hours show I'm guaranteed to see songs from that album that I haven't seen them play live that I really want to see them play (namely All The Rage).
Either way, I'd be happy to go to either show, although I'm seriously hoping they play Donny off of Chapter and Verse seeing as that's my favourite track from that album.
| |
Live in Manchester where they're coming so definitely going to be seeing both shows - saw them in Cardiff in a tiny little room and it's still one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
| |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
