Billy Talent recruits substitute drummer

2016-01-15 by IceDoesntHelp | 14 Comments
Aaron Solowoniuk, drummer of Billy Talent, will not be doing the drumming and percussion on Billy Talent's new, as of yet untitled, album. Aaron is currently dealing with increased pain from multiple sclerosis, and his bandmates have encouraged him to get well. In the interim, Aaron will do his best to serve as a studio photographer/videographer while he recuperates and manages his symptoms.

Jordan Hastings of Alexisonfire fame will take Aaron's place for the time being.

Aaron recorded a message, which you can view below:

Awh poor Aaron. I hope he has a smooth recovery and can eventually go back to drumming soon. I don't know anything from Alexisonfire, so I don't know what he could do to contribute to the band, but hoepfully it'll work. And it's cool that Aaron is still involved with the band. Get well!

Jordan Hastings is WAY overqualified for this, but I agree that I hope the regular drummer recovers.

Best wishes Aaron! I'm looking forward to the new album. Dead silence was great.

MS is a bitch and can be totally debilitating over time so I hope he can manage his condition and stop the symptoms from progressing too badly.

Unfortunately it was only a matter of time until this happens. I truly hope for the best for the guy.

I don't think MS is something you can "recover" from unfortunately...

no there's no cure yet. I used to work with someone who had MS...it's a really rough illness

Yeah, its quite possible that with MS, he'll never drum again. Really sad. an old family friend of mine has ms and hes gone from being a professional dancer to practically paralyzed in a wheelchair.

I really hope they develop a cure soon.

Ahh, it probably won't affect the album sucking anymore than it will. Hope he gets better soon though.
