Sounds like StS all right.

Doesn't seem like the recent band drama had any impact on the sound

Sounds promising. V was kind of a let down imo.

Hoping this is more like their earlier stuff. More grit, less shine.

v was indeed more lukewarm than expected. The Migration is magnifiscent, though.

Looks like islnds sound is coming through more with the synth. 1:15 reminds me of Atlas Novus, would rather have more chill STS, their juggy stuff doesn't interest me too much.

Me too. Plus this new business of pulling in lots of guests on songs (the unmentioned ones probably being clowns from generic djent bands) and the trendy hyper-clean production with fakey drum sound means STS is probably dead to me. Shame too, because they were my favorite band for years

Am I the only one that could give a fuck less? What- he didn't pay them enough? Sounds like that's the case, so ask for more and if you don't get more then quit. They did. Situation resolved.

I don't get how people get so wrapped up in the business of band members like they are personal acquaintances so much so that shit like this would ruin a band for you. Did you lose respect for the music, too? You guys act like musicians are all great human beings.

BRB while I go 5 some Burzum.

DAMN I read up, this guy seems like a miser and a terror to tour with

"link to drama please?"

TL;DR The main guitarist didn't pay the rest of his bandmates whilst he lived in luxury, apparently he's an asshole according to most people who've toured with him too. He makes cool music tho so I couldn't give less of a fuck.

Honestly, Christ Letchford's solos are the least interesting part of Scale the Summit. His sense of melody is just so all over the place. Scale the Summit excels with sweet riffs, grooves and chord progressions. The solos feel like exercises.

or you know, you could not take sides and vilify a guy when you have absolutely no certainty of what even transpired

it doesn't look good for chris, but i'm not gonna take sides because whats the fucking point, I don't know shit I'll stay out of it

also, christ letchfords solos are fucking bomb stfu jfc, his phrasing is incredible

of course chris lives in luxury, his wife is a fucking best selling author

If any of that info is remotely true, then I suggest Chris and Jari (of Wintersun) team up sometime in the near-future.

Eh he’s obviously an ass but which of us wouldn’t be a bit of an ass in his position. Stoked on the album.

He's definitely an ass and honestly, a lot of us would not be that much of an ass in his position. This is coming from a longtime STS fan. He has a line of personal products that he solely profits off of, and with what shared profits there are, doesn't share with his bandmates? Not remotely equitable.

Just like 3/4 of V it feels like Chris wrote 9 licks and then was too busy going through Tosin's trash to organize or transition between them and so leaves that up to the listener.

Another new song. I would say it is a clear improvement over the previous one (or at least the opening solo is nice)
