Parquet Courts Announce New LP

2018-02-28 by Spluger | 16 Comments
Indie/noise rock quartet Parquet Courts have announced their 7th full length LP "Wide Awake!" due out May 18th, 2018 on Rough Trade Records alongside a new track "Almost Had to Start a Fight/In and Out of Patience".

In regards to the new album and working with big time producer/musician Danger Mouse, vocalist/guitarist Andrew Savage said the following: "The ethos behind every Parquet Courts record is that there needs to be change for the better, and the best way to tackle that is to step out of one’s comfort zone. I personally liked the fact that I was writing a record that indebted to punk and funk and Brian's a pop producer who's made some very polished records. I liked that it didn’t make sense."

Wide Awake! is up for preorder at https://shopusa.roughtraderecords.com/rt-homepage/wide-awake

Well, it was announced last week already, so I suppose not that big a news.
But the track is goddamn fire.

Andrew Savage did the artwork for the album cover/that's featured in the video. Very talented guy.

Oh man neek do yourself a favor and listen to Light Up Gold already. Monastic Living is in no way a good introduction to their sound. And yeah this is kind of old news but I'm of the mindset that if it hasn't been posted here yet it should be (within a reasonable amount of time of course).

pretty cool, I oughta check out more of their stuff, I'm really only familiar with that song they did with Bun B last year (which was fucking awesome).
