Taken from the band's new upcoming EP, "Dødskamp", Season Of Mist uploaded a new single to YouTube. The new album is coming out on 5th of April.

The label writes:

"'Dødskamp' has been commissioned by Innovation Norway, Visit Norway and Munch Museum, who asked four Norwegian artists within four different genres of music to interpret their angle on a freely selected work by the famous painter Edvard Munch."

"Dødskamp" is a two-song single (not an EP), the upcoming stuff is a full-length due later this year.

crushes my hopes, more like. production is pretty tame when music like this needs to absolutely cut to leave impact. even the fast parts don't sound that aggressive.

Crushing you say? How's that for biased reporting!

Sounds pretty good to me. I like they're trying something more melodic than what they usually do but I also agree that the production could pack an little more punch

One of the most underrated of the Norwegian BM bands, frost is a fucking maniac on the kit

is it just me or is there like no low-end in the production? sounds weak af, no punch in the drums at all

song was sick though regardless

I have to say that's a pretty interesting premise and idea. To make the music for the painting. I liked the song. By the way weird to see plebs here complaining about the production lacking low end. You've obviously never listened to Black Metal before... I guess?

Band has always ruled save for a few mediocre releases, EP will rule.

@Eons

I think it's just lacking the attack that the kick and snare have had in their previous albums. I'm not an audio engineer but something's different

Production could definitely be rawer and more brutal, but the song isn't a bad one at all.
