Haven't listened yet but I bet it djents.
| |
OH SHIT! stoked as fuck to jam this
| |
downloading now. fuckin amped
| |
lfg boys
| |
This so goood...
| |
Is this on Beacons' level? I can only hope. I'd settle for Subsume though.
| |
It's more similar to Fade. Post metal + post rock sound with no djent. On first listen I'd say it's almost as good as Fade too.
| |
definitely not on beacons level but really damn solid. sitars right I hear lots of Fade and even Subsume in this
| |
Beacons and Subsume are on the same level tho
| |
hes no devin townsend thats for sure
| |
"Beacons and Subsume are on the same level tho"
subsume is damn close, but falls a little short imo
| |
beacons has those really great sad parts, but Subsume is just so solid.
| |
great to see him back again
he was a huge influence in my early 20s
| |
nice to see ya still pop your head out for a cloudkicker release scoot m/
| |
I love cloudkicker this was unexpected for me
| |
this is as peter griffin would say: frickin sweet
| |
So far I only have Fade and The Discovery, both are great even with nice atmosphere. but Unending has a great colourful album cover so I might check it out.
| |
He is consistently brilliant
| |
wow this project still alive?
NEATO
| |
Awesome surprise. It's great
| |
'It's more similar to Fade. Post metal + post rock sound with no djent.'
Never heard any of this guy's stuff, but this is how you pique my interest.
| |
'It's more similar to Fade. Post metal + post rock sound with no djent.'
Really? Fade is amazing, I would like some more post metal + post rock.
| |
"Never heard any of this guy's stuff"
Holy shit, get on it Demon! The dude is brilliant, and diverse.
| |
at least check the live record lol it has the most bass than on any of his records
| |
his first release has tons of djent
he really branched out after releasing a string of EPs and experimented with loud/soft dynamics
beacons is his masterwork
| |
oooh I need to jam this
| |
HAPPY FUCKING FRIDAY TO ME
| |
subsume [2]
| |
I prefer both Fade and Let Yourself be Huge to Beacons, but I know I'm in a minority here.
| |
they’re not really comparable
lybh is a complete 180 from beacons and fade is him experimenting with post-grunge
| |
Totally
| |
The new album could end up being my favourite of his, and that is saying a lot given how Beacons, LYBH, and Subsume have been such massive and personal albums for me. It's absolutely incredible.
| |
"fade is him experimenting with post-grunge"
Umm...what?
| |
i like it
| |
Could've been cool but Ben doesn't have style when it comes to these electronic drum beats. He could've made a sleek release. Sounds like mainstream pop drums. For me, they really take from what could've been a very engaging album. I think this is a personal gripe though as most seem to enjoy it and find this cohesive. Just doesn't do it for me.
| |
the opening minutes of Xaoc made me sigh in relief, I missed Cloudkicker
| |
The transition from Wall into Void, sweet fucking christ
| |
no fucking kidding
| |
Fantastic as always apart from the opener
| |
Never heard any of this guy's stuff [2]
But it sounds good. Although I wish I hadn't seen Animals' complaint about the drums. Cuz yeah.
| |
I'm sure longtime listeners will disagree but I think if you're new to Cloudkicker you need to go straight to Subsume.
And Signal/Noise off the Little Histories EP
| |
"Fantastic as always apart from the opener"
man I was so giddy when I first heard it. just reminded me of classic cloudkicker mood setting
| |
subsume represents a synthesis of all his works so i would agree that its the best place to start
| |
these guys are great
| |
and this album rules
| |
How long is Unending?
| |
57 mins
| |
It's around half an hour, not counting the vinyl mixes.
| |
Prolly yall know this, but you can DL it for free.
| |
If you go to Bandcamp, you should buy it if you can. It's name your price. Support local artists.
| |
Goes without saying, I thought.
| |
ye always give ben a few bucks. After actually making an account on Bandcamp I went back and bought all of his albums just so they'd always be in my library.
| |
finally listened, pretty sweet. might bump to a 4 in time but it feels a little short/underdeveloped, especially for an LP, and just leaves me wanting more
| |
I think the length works fine imo.
