Breaking Benjamin Acoustic LP 2019-10-28 by hobblepot | 32 Comments |
Alternative Rock band Breaking Benjamin have announced an acoustic album titled Aurora, slated for a January 24th release. The album will feature acoustic renditions of their most popular tracks, from 2004-onwards, meaning no songs from their debut Saturate -- which features some of their most popular tracks, including "Polyamorous", "Medicate", and the first song frontman Benjamin Burnley ever wrote, "Shallow Bay" -- will appear, much to the chagrin of the band's Facebook fans.
The album will also feature guest vocals from Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf, Scooter Ward of Cold, Michael Barnes of Red, Adam Gontier of Saint Asonia and Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath. Pre-orders begin on 1st of November, but pre-order bundles are available right now on the band's webstore.
Benjamin Burnley had this to say about the album:
"This album is a celebration of our incredible fans; for those who have been there since hearing ‘So Cold’ for the first time in 2004, and the new ones who have joined us on this amazing journey along the way. We’ve always shared a unique emotional connection to our music with our fans, and this album attributes to those dark times and euphoric ones. From wherever you joined along the road to Aurora, this one is for you. Thank you.”
Tracklist:
01. "So Cold" (Aurora Version)
02. "Failure" featuring Michael Barnes of Red (Aurora Version)
03. "Far Away" featuring Scooter Ward of Cold
04. "Angels Fall" (Aurora Version)
05. "Red Cold River" featuring Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath (Aurora Version)
06. "Tourniquet" (Aurora Version)
07. "Dance With the Devil" featuring Adam Gontier (Aurora Version)
08. "Never Again" (Aurora Version)
09. "Torn In Two" (Aurora Version)
10. "Dear Agony" featuring Lacey Sturm (Aurora Version)

Ah, the angst will be more intimate sounding now.
|
| |
I love this band, but I have about zero excitement for this except for maybe the Lacey track
|
| |
well, the Spencer track will get a morbid curiosity listen from me

Would have been nice if more artists contributed but I’ll listen.

no

it'll be alright. Acoustic renditions have never done much for me
|
| |
Well this was disappointing news
|
| |
confused as to why the band are pretending Saturate doesn’t even exist, their facebook post states they began in 2004 with So Cold? are they embarrassed of it?
|
| |
ITS ALRIGHTTTTTTTTTTT
|
| |
Lacey, Spencer, and Michael are enough to make me at least semi-interested

Breaking Benjamin...
“EEEYYYY”
...Acoustic album
“Awwww...”
|
| |
Got some interesting features at least. Michael Barnes should fit in nicely.
|
| |
Oh yeah, that's what the world was asking for. What we needed.
|
| |
Well the Michael and Lacey stuff could be cool. It is kinda funny that they basically disowned their first record.
|
| |
Not sure about this
|
| |
Celebrates the past 15 years but most songs are from their past two albums?
|
| |
Angels Fall, Dance With The Devil, and Dear Agony have me hyped.
|
| |
fuck yes!!!!!!!

"Celebrates the past 15 years but most songs are from their past two albums?"
This.

well, tbf, that's probably down to being salty over the fact his ex-band mates co-wrote most of the good songs. i assume he'd have to give them a bigger slice of the pie if he extensively ran with a lot of the older material, but it definitely misses the point of the entire record. lol

Not enough phobia or agony but tracks with other artists should compensate.
|

I liked a lot of the stuff on Saturate, but Ben's performance there was pretty inconsistent and arguably the worst of his career. And considering BB is all about Ben, it have sense that he is not too fond about that record.

| |
no sooner or later?

"well, tbf, that's probably down to being salty over the fact his ex-band mates co-wrote most of the good songs."
that makes a lot of sense, but why is there is this "fuck Saturate in particular" attitude? the album is their first, it's one of their better albums, and from what i've seen its a fan favourite, can't even say it's their worst commercially, it went Gold recently so people clearly still care about it to some degree

Needs more songs off Phobia.
|
| |
lol that album cover looks like an out of print copy of an early 2000's album.
|
| |
And that’s what I love about it
|
| |
is that actually the cover art is this the mid 90s
