this band is the most boring unoriginal interpretation of florida death metal i've ever heard

From Beyond and the Inhuman Condition EP are both sick, the rest of their discog is weak though.

nah, the 80s demos are their best stuff

That's the problem with most Metal bands, they have a few stellar albums and the rest of them are just average or straight awful.

Oh good, one of those "the demos were better" dudes

... no

this band's creativity was very shortlived, not that there was a lot to begin with

yeah they have a couple decent tunes but there's really no reason to pay them attention when so much else is out there.

Crazy how changing the "e" at the end of their name to an "a" automatically makes them a better band

from beyond isn't even that good tbh i just don't see the appeal of this band at all

From Beyond was a masterpiece in experimenting how to include stoic repetition meaningfully into Death Metal, plus it had some of the best simple-but-effective DM riffs ever. Dawn of Eternity is a top 20 Death Metal tune for these very reasons.
But yeah... nothing after that was actually great.

Agreed on their demos being pretty cool. Believe it or not really killer demos do exist. Extreme metal bands around their formation have a certain youthful aggression to them that make the earlier works hit home a little harder for me for a decent amount of bands in the genre.
This was pretty boring. From Beyond is a solid album imo but I rarely return to it apart from a track or two honestly

eh for me it's just such a vanilla dm album but more power to you if it floats your boat donchivo

The track is underwhelming, unsurprisingly. The deviation from the stylistic device of brash simplicity and repetition into more 'sophisticated" Death metal takes away their edge, and wlell, within more elaborated sounds, they are not really competitive.

'Bill andrews is sorely missed, IMO even more so than riffmaster Rick Rozz...

they had nearly a decade to write a song that could be created in 2 minutes

from beyond rules, one of my first dm records too. not quite as good as cannibal corpse or deicide though, the trvest of all dm

yeah i genuinely like from beyond even if its not all that original. great thrashy chugs and amazing morrisound production. their sound just doesn't translate well beyond like 7 tunes.
