Love it. Album will rule.
| |
Rips, those weird grooves towards the end are hnnngggg.
| |
last 2 singles much more interesting than the first one, quite looking forward to this now
| |
that last riff is ridiculous and I love that they've broken up the chugs with more melodic passages, I've grown to appreciate Violent Sleep for what it is but it's an exhausting listen
| |
Agreed Shart, and agreed about the melodic explorations Diz!
| |
Meshuggah fell off after Catch 33
| |
And then they immediately got up again and ended up where they were during C33, after which they released obZen.
| |
Cool track
| |
loooooooool - agreed tho Trif
| |
best single released so far
| |
slaps so hard. this album is shaping up to be a doozy
| |
Yeah this is the best one so far. So sick
| |
hey tell me how this one sounds, I don't have my speakers plugged in
| |
Still think the production is a huge step down from the last album.
| |
horny tune
| |
Sounds great, not gonna listen in full, can't wait for the full rcord
| |
Love how melodic this one is. It's a rare thing for Meshuggah but they do it really well. Best single so far by a pretty big margin to me. Drum sound still ruins it a little but a pretty great track.
| |
Thirsty for this new album m/
| |
growin on me but still my least fav single
| |
"And then they immediately got up again and ended up where they were during C33, after which they released obZen."
Lol p much Trif, get 'em
| |
I will never understand people that like C33 more than Obzen.
| |
Obzen is easily better
| |
thirst trap
| |
“I will never understand people that like C33 more than Obzen.”
other way around yeah
| |
C33 is probably my favorite shuggah album and it's sad they didn't pursue that style more, but I guess that's what Fredrik's currently working on
| |
Hey, another 3 note Meshuggah song with the same atonal scream over the top. This band has sounded like robots for over 15 years at this point.
| |
best 15 years I’ve lived in then
| |
What if they're actually robots though? Wouldn't you feel silly...
| |
Meshuggah continues to sound like the demonic gatekeepers of a psychedelic realm bordering on the edges of reality. I hope that never changes.
| |
So this is the best song so far holy shit
Can't fucking wait for next week
| |
ok now do a fast one.
Has the tempo remained the same for the last 10 years? lol
| |
^^ probably and ppl love it. New track is a monster
| |
"I will never understand people that like C33 more than Obzen."
I love both a hecking lot for different reasons
| |
I have a promo of this. Long album but full of melodic and new twists never heard before from the band.
| |
This song is actually pretty good!
| |
Happy to hear that Lopan.
| |
this album is shaping up to be really damn good so far based off the tracks. Still wish the production wasn't so meh but what can ya do
| |
ayy they’re breaking through spirit
| |
Oh my, who would have though we'd ever see the day!
| |
The Shug consumes all eventually...
| |
Some of the best moments from them are their melodic parts, like the end of Straws. Good to hear the new one has more of that
| |
Band rarely disappoints, I have a feeling this one could be one of their best yet.
| |
Seems like I'm in the minority on this, but I actually really enjoy the production on these new songs. Besides the weak ass kick drum, these songs sound so beefy
| |
"Some of the best moments from them are their melodic parts, like the end of Straws. Good to hear the new one has more of that"
100% true.
| |
The singles have been pretty decent but nothing has really wowed me like a song like clockworks
| |
""I will never understand people that like C33 more than Obzen."
C33 is weirder than Obzen, has several of their best songs on it, and is one of the greatest metal albums of all time.
| |
Imo an album with programmed drums can't qualify as best metal album of all time. Not to say haake couldn't easily play that stuff, but it takes it down a notch for me even though I already think it's easily their most boring album
| |
Not even the kick drum sounds bad. Production is great all around to me. But of course that's what you get when you come online. Studio engineers galore breaking everything down and finding something to complain about lol.
| |
It was a minor nitpick you twit.
| |
That wasent a critique to your nitpick lol. Just some ppl in general.
| |
Imaging discussing music production in a music related site 🤔🤔
| |
As soon as the first single dropped, this sound guy I know that gets paid to tour with bands was ridiculing the kick drum tone. Said the engineer did him dirty lol. I tend to agree that it's a weak sounding kick but I'm sure the guy got Tomas' approval before finalizing everything
| |
No production/mix sounds complaints on this end. Kick and drums in general sounds solid. Warm mix less fatigue but still heavy as shit.
| |
People hear a warm mix these days and get up in arms that it doesn't sound like Crown Magnetar / Infant Annihilator's kick drum that is basically a digitized max velocity nuclear carpet bombing.
| |
Untrue. I don't like it because it sounds plastic and hollow and clicky to me, nothing to do with warmth or coldness. It sounds a little too synthetic to me. And it's only a minor gripe, nothing too major.
| |
what trif said. idk what ur goin on about laen lmao
| |
This has grown on me little by little, definitely better than Shortening Fuse
| |
i am fred durst
| |
Fair enough, I get the comment around clicky-ness. Tbh I'm waiting for the full album to drop to see if not being on youtube will do any favors to the mix.
