so great
| |
So yeah, this is great.
| |
Excellent song. It's so nostalgic. Gerard's vocals are mixed weirdly though, they sound like they are in the background.
| |
man those verses remind me of some famous song...can't quite figure it out yet
| |
Not a fan of this one
| |
Hardest Manchester Orchestra song since Cope
| |
Song rules. I'm so pumped up for a new MCR album if one is on the horizon.
Agreed the vocal mixing is a bit strange though; only thing holding this back from being perfect because it's otherwise sort of one of the better songs they've written?? Feels weird to type that in 2022.
| |
I’m with y’all, the vocal mix makes this seem like a live recording produced to sound like it’s not.
Song is really good and would benefit from better production maybe.
| |
beyond hyped
| |
mix aside, this is really good
| |
really enjoyed this - i like the mix.
| |
"Agreed the vocal mixing is a bit strange though; only thing holding this back from being perfect because it's otherwise sort of one of the better songs they've written?? Feels weird to type that in 2022."
Definitely bold, but I kinda dig that they muddied up the vocals a bit for a more live/raw sound. Fits the song style that is a bit darker and heavier in the way that their debut was, definitely darker/heavier than anything off welcome to the black parade (and danger days).
| |
this is good! dare we hope there's more to come?
| |
"man those verses remind me of some famous song...can't quite figure it out yet"
Same. It was driving me nuts. I thought of "High Hopes" by post-Waters Pink Floyd, but I'm pretty sure there's a closer match than that.
It probably triggers that "I'VE HEARD THIS BEFORE" feeling because it's just not very original.
| |
The mix adds a lot of charm, otherwise this song would be boring as hell
| |
This song and the production, and his vocals, and everything. I'm usually more concise about my descriptions and explanations for why things are so good, but this is just so solid and nostalgic and everything. run on sentences galore. so much energy.
| |
It's perfectly mediocre
| |
Very good
| |
“The mix adds a lot of charm, otherwise this song would be boring as hell”
It’s still boring as hell though lol
| |

"man those verses remind me of some famous song...can't quite figure it out yet"
verse sounds familiar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3snZfNSYcXE but this ain't that famous
| |
Really cool song with questionable mixing. So glad they stuck to their roots and didn't drop some bland, soulless attempt at a pop hit.
| |
music is safe again i will sleep this year
| |
"It’s still boring as hell though lol"
I'd take it over NANANANANANANANA or whatever that shit song was. I've only ever heard 30 seconds of that song in my entire life and it still haunts me sometimes
| |
Definitely less boring than Na Na Na but still pretty damn boring.
| |
mixing in the verses is terrible, but chorus is alright
| |
the mix sounds so muffled. I feel like I can't really hear the track even with the volume turned way up.
| |
even Danger Days was underrated smh yall
| |
boring as shit
| |
"even Danger Days was underrated smh yall"
not a bad album, just the bad song
| |
The verses sound like the song from 28 Days Later
| |
Got addicted to 3 Cheers last year. Hyped
| |
" otherwise sort of one of the better songs they've written?? "
You should listen to three cheers and TBP again
| |
Great song.
| |
not the band I thought I'd be obsessed with at 27
| |
song kinda goes hard tbh
| |
It's alright but I'll never purposely listen to that again.
| |
"man those verses remind me of some famous song...can't quite figure it out yet"
Also not super famous but I'm getting some strong AFI vibes, feels like it wouldn't be entirely out of place on Sing the Sorrow or Burials
| |
this is very gut
| |
Well that was surprisingly awesome.
| |
Production is messy as hell. Can't hear shit.
| |
Skyfall
| |
More I listen, the more I like it.
Sounds like a Bullets track with the polish and aggression of a Three Cheers track as well as a dash of theatricality from a Black Parade track without overdoing it. Wasn't sure about the production at first but I like it. It adds a bit of character and rawness.
| |
Song comes off as a"we havent written in a song for a long time so we tried to fit in everything what people want to hear from us" to me.
No idea what they're trying to accomplish here. Really cool atmospheric intro, very awkward transition to a messy sounding generic rock chorus, a weird and unimpressive post-hardcoreish? bridge. Execution is surprisingly decent but I don't like the song.
| |
Oh.
| |
Great build up. Can't wait until the new song drops.

It's not the first time I've seen the bullets comparison and yeah that album isn't immaculately produced either but in no way does this hit in any way close to that. I agree it's them trying to hit all the notes that people would want from them in 2022 but it makes it so forgettable in the process.
| |
" I agree it's them trying to hit all the notes that people would want from them in 2022 but it makes it so forgettable in the process."
That's why I like it.
| |
That's why I like it. [2]
It's aggressively schlocky.
| |
To each their own. Don't get me wrong it's a fine song, I was just expecting something a little more from them given their pedigree.
| |
Sounds unfinished
| |
the lyrics here are like a better version of what they did in I Brought you my Bullets, i love them
| |
Hell of a comeback song
