Imagine releasing a worse song than In Flames in 2022
|
| |
Can anybody explain to me what happens in the disgusting video though ?
|
| |
this is way better than In Flames, what are you talking about?
|
| |
In Flames Come Clarity is such a great album
|
| |
This is very much a Soilwork song.
|
| |
The beginning vocal melody definitely reminded me of Journey's Separate Ways
|
| |
Always a little awkward to hear random french when you are french. What's the point? Sounding sophisticated?
|
| |
This is the most Soilwork song of all time
|
| |
"Imagine releasing a worse song than In Flames in 2022"
I mean I can't because this is way better than In Flames
|
| |
Latest In Flames single was better (shockingly enough), this blows
|
| |
I actually like this more than I do most soilwork. Never liked the vocalist but he sounds pretty decent here
|
| |
Pretty okay, I guess. Not too bad, but not much to write home about either.
|
| |
Their prog/light phase is definitely better than their radio-friendly phase they quickly grew out of, but this is nowhere near as good as TLI/TRM, actually kinda boring. Could probably work for a mellow outro track but damn where have the blast beats gone
|
| |
Listen to the new Imperial Circus Dead Decadence instead if you want some serious melodeath with massive blast beats
|
| |
song is great
|
| |
pretty weird song for them, but I am ignorant of a lot of their newer stuff, so maybe I'm missing something, good chorus, tho. But they always had strong choruses. so Weird someone said they don't really like the vocalist, always thought his voice was the most interesting part of the band, particularly his distinct accent, kind of made the band's sound, for me, anyway.
|
| |
"Always a little awkward to hear random french when you are french. What's the point? Sounding sophisticated?"
I hate the sensual sophisticated french woman cliché (Léa Seydoux or Marion Cotillard's roles) and it's exactly what they did here. She doesn't sing, she introduces us to the track with some kind of profound BS which needs to be profound only in order to hide that it's only about sounding sexy. French is always used to sound like something profound and sophisticated is going on when it's only seduction. I just don't like that.

| |
Accent? I always thought Bjorn was pretty close to standard American
|
| |
I mean he IS Swedish, though his English is VERY good
|
| |
he doesnt sound american at all imo
|
| |
Definitely a wierd song but it's different and that's what I like most about it
|
| |
literally no reason to be writing these songs when Bjorn already sings them in The Night Flight Orchestra.

"I actually like this more than I do most soilwork. Never liked the vocalist but he sounds pretty decent here."
Bjorn has always been a great vocalist to me personally. He's gotten better throughout Soilwork's discography too for sure. But fair statement! People like what they like. I mean that respectfully! As far as the song goes idk... I don't really dig it. I loved this band so much back in the day. I loved TLI but once this super melodic style came in I just can't. I want some fast and furious Soilwork, but they never really hit hard anymore. The Living Infinite was cool, super diverse. But I really miss shit like The Chainheart Machine type shit. Back when they were thrashy/melodeath. Ramble ramble blah blah derp.

Ramble ramble blah blah derp. [2]

boring song [3]
|
| |
he doesnt sound american at all imo [2]
|
| |
too cliche' for my tastes
New In Flames and The Halo Effect is better than this.
|
| |
Great song indeed, they still deliver
|
| |
this song is the opposite of cliche
|
| |
Dude it literally sounds like straightforward alternative metal. Nothing stands out on this track and all the old soilwork albums smash this new stuff.
Real melodeath has speedy drum work, guitar, and actual harsh vocals.
And you think New In Flames single is bad ? Whatever then.
|
| |
And big AMEN to Kusangii !!
New Imperial doom decadence smashes this.
|
| |
no i don't think the new in flames single is bad. lol.
"Real melodeath has speedy drum work, guitar, and actual harsh vocals."
yes, that would be the cliche.
so this is not that. lmao.
|
| |
yall gotta check Speed's other other other other other band Act of Denial if you want that early Soilwork style fix. it's got Steve Di Giorgio and Krimh Lechner too so you can't go wrong
|
| |
lol. lmao even.
|
| |
"New Imperial doom decadence smashes this."
That, it does
