chorus is nice
| |
fucking yes the production is good
| |
really bland, especially by qotsa standards
I bet neekafart will love this
| |
Fuck yeah
| |
villains was cheeks so expectations are low
| |
Classic QOTSA, which after villains is an improvement
| |
I just started spinning these guys last week for the first time in years and now this news... the universe is weird.
| |
Mild Era Vulgaris vibes which... is not exactly my favorite QOTSA album. But I'm happy it's not going to be another "QOTSA experiments with shitty production" album
| |
When have they had shitty production?
| |
Villains is literally unlistenable
| |
Oh, I guess I am unaware since I really only gave it a spin or two haha
| |
New QOTSA nice nice!
| |
Drummer is literally too good to be playing this stuff but it’s solid
| |
sounds like QOTSA making GOTSA music
| |
but yeah chorus is swell
| |
Rox
| |
hm...not bad, haven't listend to these guys in ages
| |
Drummer is literally too good to be playing this stuff but it’s solid [2]
Jon Theodore is a beast of a drummer but, unfortunately, they aren't using nothing close to his potential.
Song's OK; on a first listen thought it sounded like a cross between Era Vulgaris and Lullabies.
Better than anything on Villains though, which is a good way to start.
| |
This sucks, what are they doing wtf
| |
i completely forgot villains existed my first thought was "damn they're finally following up clockwork!"
| |
Wait, Jon Theodore is on drums?! What a complete waste for this track.. Let's hope they use him better on the rest of the album
| |
this is definitely leaving a lot to be desired...where's that Queens zing
| |
Better than anything on Villians[2]
not bad but doesn’t have me particularly excited either
| |
Sounds more like classic Queens at least
| |
Yeah it's in a limbo space for me where I don't dislike any of it but I also didn't feel like I needed to finish the song. Good parts, not enough progression.
| |
Band severely doesn’t need to exist anymore
Just let Rock die
| |
rock n roll will never die
| |
Not if maneskin has anything to say about it 🤮
| |
Do I dare?
| |
It's an improvement over Villains and it does recall some pre-LC stuff which is nice, but I do hope the album has some more bombastic stuff on it. Anyway, I look forward to the album.
| |
It's alright
| |
Silverchair's song of the same title is 100x better. But to be fair, it's also Silverchair's absolute best song imo.
| |
silverchair have some bangers, yeah
| |
that was fun!
| |
Production is very good, song is OK.
| |
silverchair's song of the same title sounds like a muse b-side reworked for broadway
tentatively optimistic for this, glad to hear there's none of that mark ronson tincan-guitar bullshit going down here
| |
“Production is very good, song is OK.”
[2]
| |
Villains had Fortress which makes it okay, but I fucking hated the production on that one
| |
Reminds me a lot of Lullabies but then that chorus is totally different. Don't really like it but it might grow on me
| |
Ain't listened to this yet, but Theodore's performance across Like Clockwork is fucking great, sometimes a chained beast can be quite an interesting ploy
More importantly, why has nobody referred to the album title being a fucking pun about fonts? Jesus
| |
damn that sucked
| |
yeah this is a solid fuckin 5/10 whateversong o well
| |
I like it
| |
The production sounds like they've thrown hydrochloric acid on it. Its clean but so sterile.
| |
dunno what the fuck kinda hydrochloric acid you've been buying
| |
It's a cleaning agent so my comment tracks.. fool
| |
this song is basic as fuck and its ph corresponds check your simile
| |
this isn't very good.
| |
needs more desert and way more Theodore
| |
Needs less frigging high pass filters
| |
Those verse riffs sound straight off era vulgaria.
I loved villains even though the production is a mess.
Also, I like the new song but it desperately needs a better bridge in that second half.
| |
Pretty meh song overall but of course i'll judge it all once the album is fully out. Least like everyone said, the production is very good though which will help immensely.
| |
musical equivalent of staring at drywall
| |
@Milo didn’t he only play drums on the T/T?
| |
I don’t get the hate for villains, I think it’s a solid album. Not their best by any stretch, but a fun little album
| |
Who named this album? Misha Mansoor?
| |
Opening riff sounds like Duran Duran - Rio
| |
Josh counterfeited himself
he's designer
| |
Josh Homme is a useless wanker
| |
I don’t get the hate for villains, I think it’s a solid album. Not their best by any stretch, but a fun little album

Villains came too soon after Clockwork which is their opus in a lot of newer fans eyes and was inferior to it but its aged pretty nicely. Josh was also fucking hammered at most of the gigs in that time, I saw them on that tour and they ended their set after 45 minutes cause Josh was too fucked up and I think right before or after is when he kicked that photographer
| |
They built up Villains by releasing the worst song How Do You Do Rooty Tooty Too Why Do You Do so I am hoping that's the same case here, although this song ain't nowhere near as bad
| |
"How Do You Do Rooty Tooty Too Why Do You Do"
better than any of the song titles on this new LP
| |
Kinda weak, song doesn't build momentum or anything, and I think the production is very mediocre. Verse reminds me way too much of 'My Sharona' in places.
| |
do they have emotional emotion sickness
| |
i think this is significantly worse than The Way You Used to Do lmao wow what a letdown
| |
"I bet neekafart will love this"
nah this is way worse than villains
| |
Oh yeah stick I think you're right, disregard me (as a general rule of thumb)
| |
they slap again
| |
song sucks agreed
| |
This is just so... meh. Been there, done that.
| |
dont mind this
| |
we're back, goodbye vending machine riffs
| |
i've been out of the loop, just found out this rules
| |
