Looooove. My Queen has returned
| | | We’re back
| | | Great song, sounds like a progression from Abyss.
| | | loving it
| | | Ooooh looking forward to this next album
| | | Take my soul m'lady
| | | I wonder what a CW setlist might look like, I may just have to go to that Mtl date and find out
| | | It's going to be a great autumn album.
| | | pretty cool song, sounds like a tighter revision of the Abyss palette. ready for her to drop her first 3.5+ since Pain is Beauty
| | | Getting Portishead vibes, nice! Loving it!
| | | "first 3.5+ since Pain is Beauty"
Ban this man
| | | I got newer Nine Inch Nails vibes but maybe that’s just me.
I dig it a lot but it does feel a lil underwhelming after four years.
| | | I dunno, maybe it’s in particular the vocal style and sound for me, but i feel like there’s a similarity to Dummy
| | | “I wonder what a CW setlist might look like”
Hopefully a lot of Pain is Beauty, Abyss, and Hiss Spun. I’m glad I got to see her live but it was almost entirely acoustic, which was never really what drew me to her in the first place.
| | | I'm assuming if she's got a drone/doom band opening, she isn't setting the mood for an acoustic show but I guess you never know
| | | Yea the acoustic tour was already done not long ago
| | | Haven't seen her since Abyss came out. Can't wait to see her in her doomy glory :D
| | | She still played Sick, which was incredible. I really didn’t expect that
| | | Dig it -- at the same time, I really hope she and Converge give us Blood Moon II at some point!
| | | Love it
| | | Nice
| | | Actually enjoyed this so much.
| | | was just wondering the other day when we were gonna get a new Chelsea Wolfe lol
| | | I hope the new album will still have some acoustic tracks.
| | | I’m sure there’s gonna be one or two. Every album has had at least one, and they’re usually fire. Two Spirit and They’ll Clap When You’re Gone are incredible
| | | It's a big meh from me, dawg. This is just "Iron Moon" off of Abyss, only less good.
| | | "This is just "Iron Moon" off of Abyss, only less good."
What have you done to me? Can't unhear
| | | I don't really hear it... I mean I get the similarity in tone (as many others who've pointed to how this would fit well on Abyss) but aside from the tonal similarity they're sound like pretty distinct tracks otherwise
| | | yeah I don’t hear it even a little lol
| | | I was just going off of memory. But I guess on this, the crunchy guitars don't come in till the end. Just still sounds derivative. Maybe I'm just burnt out on her (or, at least, this direction), but Hiss Spun and Bloodmoon did absolutely nothing for me. I'd say this is a little better, but still sounds like an Abyss B-side. At this point, I'd kinda like to see her revisit the indie/folk/singer-songwriter stuff or maybe explore something new entirely.
| | | Yeah sounds like burnout.
