Such terrible news.. A real pioneer of rap in general let alone memphis rap. RIP queen boo
|
| |
RIP to a legend! Growing up playing them constantly it is so damn sad knowing that her, Infamous and Koop are all gone now. Each of them hit me pretty hard. This is my favorite rap group of all time and those 3 we're certainly towards the top.

if my band was subject to a diss that was even a fraction as good as Boo's verse on live by yo rep i would quit my career in music for good. The world has lost a beauty, may she rest in peace.

Yeah her verse was great on rtj2. We lost a real personality. I just saw a fantano short asking about the greatest female rapper and the guy said Mary j Blige so it was more of a joke but I'd definitely say gangsta boo deserves that spot moreso now than ever

Hard rip. Her verses on Mystic Stylez are legendary, especially for being recorded when she was 15

RIP legend

Three 6 mafia is known obviously but they were ahead of their time in making dark almost horror-esque hip hop music. Not in a clown way either (lol) but in a legit dark menacing and even satanic style of rap, early in their career.
if you look at the trajectory of rap, their influence is found all over even today with any kind of ''dark'' hip hop music. Dark grimey stuff, they were pioneers of that stuff and you can find that stuff everywhere especially the more ''edgy'' rappers of the last decade or so.

The hi hats on “Break da Law ‘95” destroy all trap music from the past decade. Dynamic.
|
| |
Agreed on Break da Law. Honestly the production coming out of Memphis from the early to mid 90's is still ahead of it's time to this day and DJ Paul and Juicy J were certainly some of the best.
|
| |
truth, pure genius came out of that town

Sad to hear this

It’s just such a sad fucking world man.
I’m drunk so pardon my rambling but 43 is just too young. And for someone that has brought so many people so much joy and catharsis. I’ll never forget the first time I heard her on RTJ2.
Fucking legend. RIP Queen

Even her hook on Walking in the Snow is fucking incredible
GODDAMN THAT MOTHERFUCKER COLD
this shit makes me so sad
