Schizophrenia (Cavalera's Version) 2024-04-30 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 14 Comments | Cavalera Conspiracy, under their "Cavalera" moniker, are again revisiting the early days of Sepultura with a re-recorded version of their second full-length Schizophrenia, originally released by Cogumelo Records in 1987.
The original Sepultura release was the group's first with lead guitarist Andreas Kisser, and marked a move away from the black metal influenced sound of their first releases and into death-thrash territory, and more complex songwriting.
The new version will be released on 21 June 2024 via Nuclear Blast and features the original tracklist (sans the intro track and Troops of Doom), with a previously unreleased track "Nightmares of Delirium" as a bonus.
Track list:
1. From The Past Comes The Storms
2. To The Wall
3. Escape To The Void
4. Inquisition Symphony
5. Screams Behind The Shadows
6. Septic Schizo
7. The Abyss
8. R.I.P. (Rest In Pain)
9 Nightmares of Delirium
The band's current touring lineup of Max and Iggor, Igor Amadeus Cavalera (Healing Magic, Go Ahead and Die, ex-Lody Kong) and Travis Stone (Pig Destroyer, ex-Lody Kong) was used to complete the recording. First single "Escape to the Void" is out now.

this sounds decent so ya know what idec have fun with it my dudes ๐ Can't come close to the original but at least Max's vox sound good.
| | | Seen a lot of complaining elsewhere. I get the purists are gonna pure but this sounds way better, objectively.
| | | Yeah it's good
| | | Should be cool, I liked their redone versions of the first two, although those were actively awful recordings in the original. Nothing to complain about here, nice to have the options.
| | | It's a super cool initiative.
| | | The new artwork is way better too. But I think they should end the re-recordings here, the Cogumelo era is the only one which really needed better production, Beneath the Remains still holds up today. They've also announced the Third World Trilogy Tour in which these 3 releases will be the bulk of material played.
| | | bro i just thought about them rerecording this next a couple days ago and voila!!! no fucking kidding
| | | It sounds great!
| | | good on them for doing this one also
| | | Sounds killer like the other re-recordings. I doubt they'll record the Scott Burns era albums.
I'm curious about any rights issues they might have with this rerecording, since current Sepultura members have writing credits.

| | | Already preordered, since itโs a bitch to find Sepultura in my neck of the wilds
| | | Fucking love the original album. Glad this re-recording is in the original key, Testament and Exodus re-recording in lower tunings took some energy out of those songs.
| | | The first two I understand, but I don't think we need this.
