Track Listing:
1.Your Sword vs My Dagger: The first track on the CD starts with a hard riff and breaks into the lyrics quickly. its got the typical Silverstein sound, mixing the scream and melodic vocals. Good Lyrics round off this good song.
2 Smile in Your Sleep: One of the softer songs on the cd, Its a great example of how Silverstein can write good lyrics and combine them with a good sound. The only screamo here is really in the bridge, and in a couple of the later chorus'.
3 Ides of March: idles of March is amazing. One of my favorite tracks on the cd, it has the advanced sound that Waterfront gives you that "BISF" didn't provide. Awesome lyrics and good guitar make this a great song.
4 Fist Wrapped in Blood: One of the main tracks on the CD, it displays Screaming, singing, hard guitar, and good lyrics. Not much on this song to set it apart from any other "Broken is easily fixed" or and Hawthorn heights song, but What Silverstein lacks in groundbreaking sound here they make up in delivery. It may not be an original sound but its Silverstein using the sound they have, and using it well.
5 Discovering the Waterfront: This song is in my top 3 on the cd for sure. It starts off with a slow riff, and some soft vocals. As the chorus hits the tempo picks up some to a harder guitar and stronger vocal performance which i think fits perfectly. This track switches from mellow verse to strong chorus and so on. Great blend of sound here. Good lyrics once again.
6 Defend You: Screamo start to this song, it kicks off at a fast tempo guitar/drums and continues for the entire Song. Versus are mostly Melodic in terms of singing, but the bridge and chorus' are straight up screamo. This is the sound Silverstein had on "When Broken is easily fixed."
7 My Heroine: Tempo starts slow with melody singing, and moves faster into a screaming verse. not much to say about this track. Like i stated before. It may not be an original sound but its Silverstein using the sound they have, and using it well.
8 Always and Never: Wow i love this track. Truly the advanced Silverstein sound here. Screamo to start, and carries into singing, then screaming, singing, then screaming. Awesome melodic chorus with great lyrics. All the while maintaining a upbeat harder riff style sound.
9 Already Dead: Nice overall fill in song. Not quiet a hit but not crap either so its a win. It's your same Silversetin sound, catchy lyrics, screaming every once and a while, Singing chorus. Nothing much to say here.
10 Three Hours Back: The intro to this song catches you off guard with its uncharacteristic sound. A southern style guitar and rippled bell sound lead into a quick screamed line. The song sounds a little differently then the other tracks with the different intro and a couple of group yelled lines. But other than that Scream-Sing-Scream-Sing. Still a decent sound. Better than previous Silverstein EP songs in terms of sound.
11 Call It Karma: My least favorite track on the cd I would have to say. The sound is to fixed and doesn't change at all though out the song. Really a basic filler song. Screaming doesn't happen on this track, Just repetitive guitar/drums/bass, with a sort of whiny sound. Didn't like this track much.
In Depth Description: Following up to "Broken Is Easily Fixed" it doesn't sound too off from their debut. There is less scream in it by far, but still enough to keep the sound silverstein goes for. There is more melody to the songs on Waterfront, as shown in Smile In Your Sleep and Discovering the waterfront. All in all its your classic Silverstein sound with a edgier, more advanced sound.
Nothing too new, but for sure an improvement on their sound.
