Review Summary: orgasmic vocals
Where to start? This album most undoubtedly revolves around vocalists, Jonny Craig(Emarosa and formerly Dance Gavin Dance) and Craig Owens(Formerly of Chiodos and Cinematic Sunrise.) Both vocalists deliver two completely feels to their music. Owens soothness gives you the softer yet at times aggresive feel to the band, while on the other hand Jonny Craig will give you a very emotional and motivational sense to the music. Both vocalists are extremely talented but how talented really is Isles And Glaciers? Their debut EP, "The Hearts Of Lonely People" clicks off with a piano based intro and leads right into Owens profound vocal in "Hills Like White Elephants." The album second track "Clush" includes many vocal parts from singer/guitarist Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil whose voice will make you want to say holy s**t that dude can sing. The song gives a more mainstream/indie rock vibe as opposed the opening track which gives you a more grand introduction feel.
While the album indefinitely delivers powerful and impressive vocals there's not much to the music aspect of the group's writing. There's no doubt that each music knows how to play their instruments pretty damn well but with vocalists like Owens and Craig theres much need for over-dramatic guitar or drum work. Lets face it voices like Owens and Craigs are one in a million.
This isnt a very in detail review seem as how theres not much to review. Anyone who enjoys hearing incredible singing should definately give this a listen, end of story.
