Review Summary: The angriest female grunge album you will ever hear.
In the 90's a female named Courtney Love posted this personal ad in a newspaper: "I'm a musician looking for a band to play in. My influences are Big Black, Sonic Youth, and Fleetwood Mac". Following this, lead guitarist Eric Erlandson joined Courtney Love. She then gathered some friends (presumably ones in nightclubs that she hung out in often), and started a grunge band called Hole. Pretty On The Inside is a very raw album that was produced by Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth and Don Fleming from Gumball, and this album is angry and full of heaviness. "Garbage Man" was the first song by Hole to be played on MTV's 120 Minutes, and it hosts an epic riff, packed with a weird video featuring Courtney rolling around in a car in slow motion. All of this is filmed in bright colours. Anyway, the title track features Courtney spewing angry bile once again, but this time, she throws in female-oriented curse words, but in a subversive manner. This album is dope like Taco Bell with Sierra Mist to drink.
