Review Summary: A Mature Fuck.
Most bands will strive for an evolution in their sound. Building upon influences while maintaining a original style and remaining loyal to their fan-base. Bands will incorporate new playing techniques and expand into a tour de force of creativity and intelligence. Torso*** does none of this and they don't ***ing need too.
As Semen Blends With Rot is the second full-release from pornogrind legends Torso***. This opus deals with heavy issues such as the role of violence in the media, the degrading respect for the elderly and the sensitive issue of women sexuality. Again, the album uses a series of elaborate metaphors and similes to express their opinions on these issues and their disdain for the dumb-downed songwriting of this era.
ASBWR begins with 'Compulsive Need To Stab Cunts', a heavy grind-ballad that brings the issue of online dating to the forefront. Torso*** want to get the point across that internet dating is a dangerous game that could be deadly if treated with a laid-back attitude. They address this idea again later in the album with 'The Scent Of A Dead Women'. Torso*** also talk about some issues not usually addressed such as the degrading amount of respect for the elderly in 'Granny The Finger***er' and the goverment's role in the world's downward economy in 'Molested By A Huge Cock'.
Musically this album is not a huge improvement to their last effort with it's huge use of samples and dropped A chords but this time around the riffs are much improved in structure and in use of the samples. The best examples of this are '*** Her Till She Defecates', a song about women's sexuality and 'I Kill, I Cum' a song about the use of sexual imagery to sell products.
In conclusion, As Semen Blends With Rot is a mature squeal that addresses some more sensitive issues and is not afraid to use creative imagery to do so. This album can best be summed up in a metaphor. It's like watching your attractive 17 year old daughter grow into a legal attractive 18 year old daughter. That you ***.
