I was bored, so I decided to so a review on my favorate album. This is also my first review, so don't get too mad. If you do, I wont care.
Well, from the other reviews you can see the lineup, but here you go:

This is the album that many say is the best metal album ever. I agree. Compared to the black album, this album doesn't seem to be known by the public as much. The most notable songs are probably Battery, Master of Puppets, Welcome Home (sanitarium) and Orion. Metallica's third album and is Metallica's first album that had no Dave Mustaine (maybe except for Leper Messiah, but Metallica says he had no work on that song) and this is the last album that featured Cliff Burton. Except for Garage Inc. but it doesn't really count.
1. Battery
It starts off with approx. 40 seconds of acoustic guitarage and out of the blue, the guitars get distorted and Cliff and Lars follow with rhythmic expertise. Then, a short riff by James comes out with a faster riff and then they all follow him, again, and this being the main riff of the song. During the chorus, the main riff keeps going, but James and Cliff start shouting the song title, "BATTERY!", obviously sets a flag saying "this is the chorus"After a few minutes of thrash, it slows down a little bit, then a melodic guitar comes out, and then it picks up fast again and then a nice solo by Mr. Hammett and the riff goes on, but its slightly different, and then the main riff keeps going and then it ends. It sounds boring, but when you hear it, it will take ur teeth out.
2. Master of Puppets
This song was written by the whole band and what can I say. It's one of my favorite songs ever. It has James playing this riff that keeps going down by semi-tones and then this really awsome riff goes and then the whole band follows through. For the verses, it's a simple but a catchy riff that goes higher after the riff repeats 2 times. But then my favorite part of the song comes up, the pre-chorus. It has James singing very simple lyrics and it has Cliff being the echo but they also have producers making echos. And then the Chorus, also a fun part of the song, has simple guitar playing with lars filling in for them. After the second chorus, the song slows down with a distant "Master... master... master..... master......" and Kirk goes melodic and slow and then the band follows.. again and then the riffs get chunky and james starts singing for like 15 seconds and then Kirk comes out with this wild face melting solo. After the chorus comes through again, the song ends with James and Cliff giving out a demonic laugh and the song fades.
3. The Thing That Should Not Be
This song has a eerie setting, that starts with a simple riff that is played by clean guitars and then chunky distortion comes up with the band following them and then it gets quiet, with the guitars playing a very simple riff, kinda sounds like "dum dum............... dum dum....." and that repeats for the verses, and then the chunky intro part is the chorus, but it sounds cool. And then a different riff that is also simple with James singing slowly "Rises... Immortal... In madness you dwell..." and then after the second chorus, kirk plays a tapped solo that sounds eerie, which fits the song. After the song repeats, the song fades out with the main riff going.
4. Welcome Home (Sanitaruim)
This song is about.. well.. a sanitaruim, probably being a soldier returning from the war. It starts off with a somewhat haunting riff and then the bass does some slides and the song keeps going without distortion playing a riff that climbs up and then falls down, and then distortion comes up playing this riff that sort of falls down for the chorus, with james shouting "San--it--aruim, Leave me be!" and then a slow solo played by kirk emerges and then the verses come back up, and then the chorus, and then this fast paced riff goes and then James starts singing about how he cannot escape, and with a little lyric, "Kill, such a friendly word" (Being my favorate lyric in this song ;) ) and then the fast riff keeps going and then the drums get more harder and a guitar going all melodic goes and then a somewhat slow solo, but very nice plays. And then, Lars plays this noticable drum solo until the end, and then a single note comes up sounding like a bang ends the track.
5. Disposable Heroes
This song is war themed and instantly starts with fierce riffing and drumming and then James plays an even faster riff all alone and then the whole band joins, but out of nowhere comes an even faster riff, with the whole band in. And then a slower riff emerges and then James starts singing "Bodies fill the fields I see" and then the pre-chorus comes with james singing about a only son that was 21 years old, but then a meaty riff comes and then James and Cliff yells "Back to the front!" and the verses and chorus blah blah blah... And then a different riff comes with James and Cliff singing "Why... Kill... Lie... Hell" and James singing stuff in between. And then a solo by Hammett comes up, that lasts for almost like a minute, then the "Why... Kill..." part comes back up again, and then the verse.. chorus.. and then it ends with the faster faster riff in the beginning played, then it stops, then comes again, then ends the song.
6. Leper Messiah
This song is written by James and Lars, but rumored to be written by Dave Mustaine of Megadeth as well, since Dave used to be in the band. This track starts with James counting and then a meaty distorted riff comes out and then a simple riff starts playing, but its awfully catachy. I think the highlight of the whole song is the drums during the chorus. Well, the riff keeps going through the verses and then the chorus, also bearing a simple riff, ending off with "Bow down to leper messiah!". And then verse. chorus. basic song structure. Then it picks up a little bit faster and Lars is using the trademark double bass. Proving that drums is the highlight of the song. And then another Metallica solo played by guitist professional, Kirk Lee Hammett goes on and then James sings part of the chorus, and then it ends with James and Cliff shouting "Lie!" and the songs ends from the beginning riff ending.
7. Orion
Orion is a instrumental track. To me, this is my favorite song by Metallica and beats the other instrumentals, well, to me of course, but lets hear your opinion. It has 3 guitar tracks and 2 bass tracks. well anyways it starts off with distorted bassage by Cliff fading in and guitars following. This repeats a little bit and then Lars comes with catchy drums. And then it gets louder, and then bass distortion is off and then a riff that repeats 6 times and then Cliff turns his distortion back on and plays a somewhat high pitched little solo and then his little solo is transformed into a meaty low pitched version of it with guitars. And then the riff that repeats 6 times comes back up... that repeats 6 times... and then Kirk comes out playing a solo and then the riff changes into something going downwards and then it ends. Then the song gets awfully quiet probably making you think the song ended. And then a quiet bass solo comes out and then the 3 guitar tracks start playing a bending riff and then a melodic guitar solo comes out and it keeps going and going and then the guitar plays something very cool with the bass tagging along and then it changes with the bass probably being higher pitch then the guitar and then Cliff slams on distortion and a fast guitar solo comes out and then near the end of the solo, Cliff tags along again and then it ends and then the riff with the tiny solo with distorted bassness comes up, but the soloness aint there. And then another guitar solo comes up and then it fades out with the chunky version of the little solo.
8. Damage Inc.
This song begins with Kirk and Cliff playing this wavy thing and then it gets thick and then hardcore meaty riffage comes, and then a ƒucking blazing fast riff comes out and then a slightly slower riff comes and James starts singing about world domination. And then for the chorus, the guitaring is similar to the verses, and ends with James whispering "Damage Incorperated" into the microphone... gets silent, but instantly the beginning riff comes out showing that they are ready to go again! and then the verse chorus thing blah blah... and then a slow riff goes along and then, whoa. Fast riffing and wild soloing comes out and then the final verse, which contains swears for all those little 10 year olds to go show all their friends and say "I heard someone say a swear!" and then chorus, and then it ends, making a good album ending by the way.

If you like heavy stuff, then buy then album. I' sure you will not regret it.
