A Song for the Optimists
The opening to this cd just hits you right in the face, the vocals get you worried less about if he wants to kill you but if he is gonna lose his voice. the double bass pedal just goes on and on through this song. This is more of the growling vocal songs. 4/5
Dilated
good guitar work in this song. all the songs on this cd are all over 3 minutes and 30 seconds. this song is one of the more harder songs on the album. but towards the middle it slows down a whole lot. but it comes back to that metal sound Atreyu has 4/5
Ain't Love Grand
slower song on the album. but its my favorite on the song on this cd, every note on this song is catchy. the lyrics to this song once i looked them up, were wierd "its so hard to see where your eyes are rolling in the back of your head, its even harder to speak when everything just comes out wrong" that parts just gets in your head man. the growling vocals magically enough will also get in your head on this song. The drums to the songs are also good. the guitars are pretty good considering what Atreyu usually sounds like. 5/5
Living Each Day Like You're Already Dead
the singer doesnt sound right in this song. like his growling vocals they sound different from usual. the chorus to the song is really slow. the drums are good on this song. most songs on this album have very good drums. this song is alright its average on my scale. the guitar work towards mid end on this song is really good. actually its probably the best work on this album with guitars. 4/5
Deanne the Arsonist
starts out with some drums, which then leads to the guitar coming in. which of course leads to the bass. and then the vocals just punch you in the face. this is a harder song on the album. the guitars get to repetive which annoys me 3.5/5
Someone's Standing on My Chest
double bass pedal time bitches 8-) this song is the most energetic song on the album, it pretty much puts the whole album in one song. it has the most hardest parts, the most enegertic, the more slower parts. this song could sum up the album all by itself 5/5
At Least I Know I'm a Sinner
The lyrics to this song are really, really dark. this whole album is dark but this song i dont know the lyrics are just darker. its a faster, harder song on this album. the vocals in the background on one verse. sound like a guy yelling to someone while taking a ****. pretty weird. 4.5/5
Tulips Are Better
it starts out like hard but it makes you feel like your speakers are messed up. but of course those guys from Atreyu just owned you. and the song comes blasting out. and you hear what you wanna hear good old Atreyu, the chorus is kinda poppy. but the rest is just those growling atreyu vocals 3.5/5
A Vampire's Lament
meh...the guitars are good but the vocals there just annoying i bet he lost his voice after recording this song its impossible not to boring song with just annoying vocals 2.5/5
Lip Gloss and Black
everyone i know says this is there favorite Atreyu song, it's my second favorite. they use some keyboards in the song. the chorus is nifty, the whole song is just overal good. its a good ending song. which ends with some keyboard and has some really nice guitar at the end. this shows Atreyu's talent if you wanna know why Atreyu is good get this song. The guitar and drums are just awesome as is the bass. the vocals are amazing and go with the sound perfectly 5/5
