Review Summary: Save it 'til the morning after..
Duran Duran's sound is fused with many different elements of pop rock, new wave, dance and synthpop. There sound is always a pleasure to hear, rising from the ashes as a big hit band.. that will be remember for ages. As there debut ''Duran Duran'' did have it's success in the UK and Us, managed singles like Girls on Film, Planet Earth, Careless Memories and their reissue which contained the big hit, Is There Something I Should Know. Duran Duran captivated the likability of young girls hearts as well as men too, being a force to reckoned with, in a period with such gorgeous dynamics. There sound never fails to impress me, more and more, I hear it.. it comes with a charming energy, with a tempting attraction, that any music fan can enjoy
MEMBERS
Simon Le Bon (vocals)- Simon Le Bon provides a Mature, smoothing and dark structure, his passionate matter.. raising from his tenor talents, to overshadow his qualified pure structure, in songs like New Religion, Lonely In Your Nightmare, Hungry Like The Wolf and Rio.. he consists of high measurements, laying down some important sounds, that leads beautiful instrumentation into a solid input.
John Taylor (bass)- John Taylor's bass talents are fierce, dynamic and a great use of technique, showing firepower in each track he pursues, Most famously known for his bass playing in Rio, As in the first album, having more a dance upbeat style, In Rio.. it became more haunting and groovy, with laying down such consistency and pride on every slap he portrays a hard hitting place, that a destructive sound can sound so precious
Andy Taylor (guitar)- Andy Taylor is an overlooked guitarist, his playing is pretty mellow, it still contains a valuable perception, simple, however unique, a perfect approach for pop, his style. He does play more of a rhythm style, than a lead, nonetheless the less, he still equips an excitement, that his found to be forgotten about.
Nick Rhodes (keys)- Keyboardists, had a special place in New Wave and Pop, the sound of the keys, were melodic, created that dance vibe, with many solid grooves. Nick Rhodes, shows his techniques on many different tracks like Hungry Like The Wolf, The Chauffeur, New Religion, Save A Prayer and Last Chance On The Stairway, his playing never fails pretentiously and the keys are a big part of a band that showed a fierce passion, that is fits well with a talented soul.
Roger Taylor (drums)- As being a drummer in a band, either you are very respected like Bonzo, Neil Peart, Danny Carey, Mike Portnoy, or just a backing member. Roger Taylor has no place for both of the roles, As for pop, new wave, dance and synthpop, the drums don't have those strong fills, energetic velocity, it does have a pure arrangement, which i love.
SONGWRITING
Duran Duran's lyricism, creates more a complex- darkness attitude, with more religious, atmospheric affects that a band with pretty boys can create a purpose, that only a fair person can judge, some of my favorite lyrics of Rio, come from, Lonely In Your Nightmare, ''Even on the darkest night '
When empty promise means empty hand
Soldiers coming home
Like shadows turning red''
Those lyrics are a perfect example of versatility on how depressing a band can get, especially in many different perspectives. Duran Duran can create a fine line between different emotions and feels, whether it's from light to dark, it captures a valuable contrast, with even sing a longs and breath taking surprises.
CONCLUSION
My final input on this record, that it's superb in every form, the majestic instrumentation, that is flowed with talent, that appeals a seductive romance with each track, the memorable nostalgia of each song, invents a prideful gesture, There styles are very well respected, appealing and admirable, The musicianship isn't advance nor mind blowing, it's creative, catchy and well driven, It's an engaging listen for many listens, it might you hit as a guilty pleasure, but instead it hits me as a delightful fascination.
