Review Summary: whats a girl to do with friends like this? with friend's like jacks mannequin you don't need real friends!

Jacks Mannequin is a fun and simple pop piano band with a pendant for catchy melody and hooked piano lines. to say anything more would ruin the joy that i found when I listened to them for the very first time way back in 2010.

But I guess if i leave it at that its not much of a review now is it! So i will continue on about the album!

The album starts with the first track called holiday from Real. This is one of the best songs on the album and does a lot to carry the good will from the listener to the track and make them continue on listening to the rest of the album. The lyrics are funny and the melody is exhaustingly catchy! The second song slows things down for the mixtape and kind of reminds me of the mix tape by Brand New but its a litrtle bit more depressing than Brand New's version of the song.

After a couple great but standard songs we get to the best song on the album and that is La la Lie. just listen to the way that Jack sings "I've got friends" at the end of the song before the last chorus, the singer sings with such power and gushto that its impossible to not fall right in love with him. The next best song on the album is called Rescued and its a sad little breakup piano song that gets me every time. the only bad song on the album is into the Airwaves but I think it was a bonus track anyway so it barely even counts anyway.

Overall the album is a classic for sure but not the best summer album i've ever heard. that has to go to Ocean avenue by Yellowcard, but this is a close second, so anyone that enjoys that album, i advise them to check out this pop punk piano jams.

^he's not necessarily wrong. this is piano-based pop rock/emo-pop, with notable pop punk characteristics.
