This band seems to be following Fall Out Boy, in the sense that they get worse after every album. This album, while it has its moments, still doesn't compare at all to So Wrong, It's Right, sort of the same way that From Under the Cork Tree lacks in comparison to Take This to Your Grave. Without a doubt, the band gained a lot of publicity from this record though.
First of all, Weightless is a great track. It's very much the type of song you'd expect from an All Time Low record, and it definitely helped the band. If every song was like Weightless, I may have liked the album more than I did. Of course, what do you expect from their signature song.
The next two songs are sort of reminiscent to their older sound. Break Your Little Heart and Damned if I Do Ya Damned if I Don't are definitely highlights from the album. While neither of them are as good as say The Beach or Dear Maria, Count Me In, these two are worth a listen. Then comes Lost in Stereo, which without a doubt shows how poppy the band is becoming, being the fact that the song itself sounds very...produced. The listener's appreciation of the track will be different, whether or not you like poppy radio friendly songs, or were expecting a New Found Glory Simple Plan type record that Put Up or Shut Up and So Wrong It's Right were.
Stella and Sick Little Games aren't really very special, but they're nice little songs. Stella is the better track out of the two.
Hello Brooklyn is just like Lost in Stereo. They're gonna become really REALLY terrible eventually, which is sad because of how good they were before.
Walls, and Too Much all kind of blended together for me, because I either of them.
After those 2 awful tracks, comes 2 great tracks. Keep the Change, You Filthy Animal incorporated a cool dual guitar thing at the beginning, which was not what I expected from them after tracks 8 and 9. A Party Song is a pretty cool song too. It's great, and very pop punk, which is what I was looking for.
Then comes the closer. Therapy is a...different song compared to the rest of the album. The song is a quieter track from them, but the vocals go higher than most of their vocals do. It's not a particularly bad thing, but it's a difficult song to listen to at times.
So it's kind of worth a listen. Weightless, Break Your Little Heart, Damned If I Do Ya Damned If I Don't, Stella, Keep the Change You Filthy Animal, and A Party Song could have been an EP and that would be easier to listen to. But I guess if more pop oriented songs (such as Walls and Lost In Stereo), you may like this album more than I do.
