ALBUM HISTORY
Alright here we go, "Kreator", is one of europes most influential and successful bands in the thrash-metal genre. This album is one of their better recordings and this album is called "Pleasure To Kill", the album contians non-stop extreme thrash-metal combined with some splashes from the early black-metal scene.

BAND HISTORY
Germany had this band-trio and in that trio there was three big bands and they were "Kreator", "Destruction" and "Sodom" and they all plays aggressive/extreme thrash-metal and all of them are still active today. This album did also influence the death-metal scene and you will understand if you have heard or will hear any song from this album. "Kreator" was at their peak during the 80's but in the 90's they went down in their career, but they managed to raise once more and they are now one of metal's most well-known thrash-metal bands. "Kreator" will never stop, no matter what!

THE CREW
The band crew was only three members when this album was released and this was the following members:
Mille Petrozza - vocals and guitars
Rob Fioretti - bass
Jurgen "Ventor" Reil - drums

Mille Petrozza, the front man of this band, the type of guitar playing was not the I expected. The guitars is just one big mad disaster, very few of the riffs are catchy or flowing, all the riffs is very fast, chaotic and they have no catchiness but on some songs there are some more ballanced riffs which I will come back later to. Alot of Petrozza's riffs and shredds reminds quite much of how death/black metal guitars usually sounds . The guitar solos is basically the same as the riffing, they are also very fast, quite frantic and sounds like a complete disorder but they are played with great skills I must say, but none of the solos grabs my attention so good that I can say that they are good.

Petrozza is also the vocalist of this extreme band and his voice is very aggressive and a bit devilish / impish, his voice also reminds you of black-metal singers which has also these raspy and very evil sounding vocals. The only song that I think that he does his worst performance is in the song "Pleasure To Kill", it sounds that he is lisping throughout the whole song and it sounds very bad and/or funny to my ears. So Petrozza's performance in this album will be a 3/5 because of his singing and a 4/5 because of his guitar playing.

And now to the bassist Rob Fioretti, as in many metal bands the bassist hardly gets any attention and I'm afriad that this is one such case. You can hear Rob's bass lines very good but they are as frantic and ultra-fast as Petrozza's guitars, there are no filler sections with any bass, nothing, I think that the bassist is one of the more important members because the bass does an whole different sound and it makes the guitars to sound better too. Anyway, Rob is an average bassist to my ears and his performance on this album will be a 4/5 from me.

Now to the most powerful member in this band, the drummer Jurgen "Ventor" Reil. If you liked Gene Holgan's work in the american extreme thrash-metal band "Dark Angel" you would love this, this guy has also amazing drum skills and these are really mad skills. Every song has this type of drumming in them, ultra-fast beats which is neverending and there are not many drum sections that has a slower pace, songs with a "slower" pace would be "Carrion" and "Riot O Violence". Remeber this, if you don't like or even hate high-speed drumming you won't like this album but that is entirely up to you. Jurgen's part in this album will get a dead on 5/5.

THE SONGS
The songs at last, the songs on this album is jsut pure madness and energy. Every song has frenetic riffs, raspy, aggressive and quick vocals, skilled but chaotic non-melodic guitar solos plus the fast maniac drumming. Most songs also has the same pattern except for three songs I guess and those are "The Pestilence", "Carrion" and "Riot Of Violence". These songs has more heavy pounding riffs and slower drums which makes this songs a bit more catchy. The only big exception is the intro filler "Choir Of The Damned" which contains a short meoldic guitar section along with some added background sounds.

THE END
Well as you can see I have made a special review, I have made some scores on the members performances of this album if you noticed and I don't know if you thought that this was a great of writing a review but I just trying to find a way to make my reviews interesting. I hoped that this review was to any help and I hoped you enjoyed it. This album was not a hot-shot album in my opinion, it was to raw and fast for my taste but if you are a fan of "Kreator" you should get this album. I would also recommend this album to death-metal fans as well but to thrashers that digs the more slower or melodical thrash-metal area would not find this album that great. Remember that this is really fast and brutal stuff so if you must headbang then do it carefully or you will suffer in great pain of whiplash.

The overall album rating will be: 3.5/5

This is indeed a commendable thrash album. Fast and brutal while still raw.

Its good but the drumming in my opinion is little poor. I love that style of drumming but Ventor on this album I don't think pulls it off well. He just consantly beats the living life out of the kit even when the drumming is too fast for the rhythms being played.

A great album but not as godly as some make it.

Eh, an okay review.

TO BUTCHER

Yes I have thrash in my user-name but I'm not used to listen to this type of thrash. To fast and less catchy. Was this review-concept ok btw?, I thought that is was different compared to other reviews that I've read, seen and written.

This album is a little too much speed and grit and too little melody for me. I prefer Slayer over this. In fact I prefer the whole american school over this...

If Petrozza's english was better I would've like this album a bit more. But it really sounds stupid at times when Mille sings imo.
