  • DoofDoof Just be happy you arent english! To say it is tedious does not begin to cover it. Polarised politics has resulted in weak leadership here, which means nothing can ever happen smoothly and everything is questioned many multiples of times. I voted remain obviously but now I just want a conclusion of any kind. I fear a sort of Brexit limbo/purgatory

  • klap supposed to review it! but came down with a nasty virus since the weekend. still on my agenda if no one else gets to it

  • DoofDoof Haha, you really hate the Little Simz ;D
    March 10 07:51 PM
  • DoofDoof I resisted the high rating for that album as long as I could, could not have been more sceptical...but it is real great. A classic song away from being an AOTY contender. Maybe his next album will deliver that ;D

  • DoofDoof You might be waiting a little while, trying to think if there's a Doof 'must-review' album coming out. Maybe the new Therapy? I could write up which I think is coming out in September. Also tempted to do a 1/5 track by track'er if something awful drops...

  • DoofusWainwright It?s a great album/compilation, it has an outside chance of staying the course as my AOTY I?m thinking - I can see me playing it a tonne

  • DoofusWainwright You're closing in on 100% objectivity, another rare user who embraces the 1 and 1.5 ratings ;)

  • Sowing hmm alright, for YOU, I will ;-)
    December 22 04:05 PM
  • Sowing everyone for the staff list was waxing poetic about it and I listened to a few songs and it just sounded like slow, sad female-fronted folk songs (which normally I'd be all about) but nothing stood out so I stopped after about 3 tracks and did something else...does it get better?

  • DoofusWainwright I liked it, nice to hear something quite subtle coming from Meiberg again. Powerful but also kinda airy too.

  • DoofusWainwright It's quite slow, I liked the John Garcia acoustic album as I'm a fan of Kyuss, his voice is an acquired taste. The Jens Lekman sounded pretty good from a first spin if you like fey indie stuff. I'm looking forward to checking out a whole load of stuff coming up (Pissed Jeans, Grandaddy, Strand of Oaks) but I haven't checked them yet. I'm guessing in a month's time there'll be a load of stuff I'd be happy rec'ing...but not a lot yet.

    January 5 09:03 AM
  • YakNips i can see where you're coming from but he makes as much of an appeal to reason as to emotion, the demagogue vibes are probably a result of his extremely strong convictions. he's never come off as arrogant or overly-confident to me, just passionate

  • londoncalling457 Hey man, came across your 2016 list and just wanted to say thanks because I've peeped a ton of awesome stuff from it that I've never heard of before. Specifically Terrace Martin's Portrait Velvets. That album is scratching the itch I've had for some tasty new jazz so hard

  • JamieTwort Nice dude, glad you dig. I was disappointed by how under the radar that one seemed to go here. Kranky didn't seem to put out that much this year but that and the new Benoit certainly didn't disappoint.

  • DoofusWainwright What are your favourite two tunes off the Frightened Rabbit - might download those first and see if they grow on me. I'll be doing my Top 60 songs of 2016 this week so anything could still crash that, my Top 50 Albums is looking very set in stone now.
    December 7 08:49 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Just listened to the Whitney - 'No Woman' is brilliant, the rest of the album only hits that same quality in spots.
    December 7 08:34 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Aidan Moffat has sad n' drunk Scot down to a tee, this lad has that pretty indie lilt and soar not a million miles from Idlewild. There's probably a 4/5 album in there but an hour of sadsacks indie is a lot to take. I know Trouble Will Find Me is the same length but...that band are the exception that proves the rule for me.
    December 7 08:02 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I guess the second one has a bit of Prison Break, Vanilla Sky and Limitless in there...which makes it sound terrible xD Trust the Doof though, I'd make it work
    December 5 01:02 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Well there are actually two - one is an alien invasion series where a group of seemingly benevolent nomadic aliens (who need to connect with a host species to survive) look to help humans beat various parasitic alien species who have been riding their coat tails around the cosmos. Second is about a mental home of the future where an implant is used to control the moods of the patients by changing their perception of reality...but a perfectly sane man is locked inside as part of conspiracy
    December 5 12:49 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm doing pretty well, maybe not been on the site as much as usual because I've been trying to write a TV script in my spare time. Just giving it a go and seeing what happens with that. I have been listening to a lot of 2016 releases so thanks for the recs. In return I'd say maybe check the Klangstof (electronic indie), Mothers (think Grizzly Bear w/ female singer) and I've been getting into the Kornel Kovacs for some weird reason (uplifting electronic/house)

  • DoofusWainwright The Leonard Cohen is reasonably solid too but sure you knew that was out and whether it's your bag already
    October 31 12:45 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Hey Ed, not been listening to too much new stuff - finding it quiet too. The Plantman and Brigid Mae Power are decent folk releases if you haven't tried them, plus Anatelier rec'd me the Klandstof which is Kid A/In Rainbows informed indie sort of a deal. Other than that I'm struggling to think of anything.
    October 31 12:43 PM

  • TwigTW Thanks, I'm enjoying the album--and your review too.
    October 11 05:34 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Corrections and Freedom were both excellent, I didn't detect a massive drop off in quality from what I read up to on the new one - just find it tough to find time to read at home as my other half isn't a big reader and I got sick of reading lengthy novels in 25 minute shifts on the daily commute. With Houellebecq I enjoy most everything he writes, think he has an underrated sense of humour, and he cuts to the bone. His lead characters are very similar you could argue as a criticism I guess

  • Jots a bit busy and haven't gotten around to it quite yet
    October 11 01:47 PM
  • iloveyouall sm0nkin along tbh. going a little slow atm, but that's a by-product of people having other commitments (i've got finals coming up even)... should pick up over the next month or so, in which time I'm hoping to have the very FIRST issue of the zine at least drafted.
    October 11 01:02 PM
  • iloveyouall there were little moments that kinda felt similar, but they were only ever fleeting, and everything in-between was greeeeeey for me.
    October 11 12:47 PM
  • iloveyouall it's not so much a case of not liking it as much as I found it super-duper middling and none of it grabbed me at all. it's fine to listen to but i know i'll never listen to it again
    October 11 12:40 PM
  • DarkSideOfLucca Islam and the Future of Tolerance is okay, but after listening to both him and Maajid talk forever you kind of already get like 80% of that book. Luckily, it only takes a day to read.
    October 10 01:07 PM
  • DarkSideOfLucca Hell yeah, man. I just got my mom the End of Faith finally. Her and my dad have been listening to the Waking Up podcast for like a year now, have showed them many debates from the Four Horsemen, etc. Did the same to my friends, aha - his episodes on Joe Rogan are also among the most interesting episodes. He talked to Gad Saad last week, I nearly came.
    October 10 12:43 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd as well with public schools for a city somehow having many millions of unaccounted for spending or whatever other government department, federal or otherwise, that you can imagine having all sorts of unexplained or just downright deplorable spending habits. Alright I'm gonna end it here before I get too mad hahahaha. 3/3
    October 10 12:42 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd the attitude of "If we don't spend it it goes to waste" is very commonplace in nearly every level of government. My dad is a fairly high rank government employee responsible for budgetary stuff for his department and he routinely gets pissed about the cavalier approach taken by those around him towards spending taxpayers' money. The Pentagon is absolutely atrocious, e.g., and often "loses" billions of dollars just like that. Nobody knows where it goes. This happens at the state level 2/3
    October 10 12:39 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Agreed about shoutbox. I'll just end by saying that I don't think the government really needs all that much money to handle the things I believe it should be tasked with (with the internet for example the marginal cost of education is close to nothing), and I look around and see the layers of middle men and government contractors and get disgusted by how inefficient and corrupt things get when the state is heavily involved. It's viewed by government workers as an endless pit of money and 1/2
    October 10 12:36 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Gotcha. That was very helpful in determining where I'd place you politically. I'm obviously extremely less than that and view giving that much to the state as pure bureaucratic bloat. We clearly have very disparate views on both the morality of allowing individuals to keep their earnings and the value that can be obtained by letting them spend/invest it on their own vs. the state taking it for whatever purpose.
    October 10 12:23 PM
  • DarkSideOfLucca You just stuck up for Sam Harris and bashed TYT with Devon Tracey language in one post. I think you are my new favorite Sputnik user.
    October 10 12:22 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Before I go, though, could you perhaps ballpark the % of someone's paycheck that you consider a tipping point for state control? If not that's fine just want to know if you have like some level in mind.
    October 10 12:00 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd "complex issue that I'm really not willing to go into the finer details" No need to tell me hahaha. But based on the way you write alone (especially considering you're German) I know that you're one of the more intelligent users on this site so just wanted to kinda get a gauge on where you stand politically. It's nice to see some people who I can at least see a certain logic backing their beliefs rather than, like, fish.
    October 10 11:58 AM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd For what it's worth I also support a base-level standard of living via government redistribution, although my method of going about it differs vastly from the way it's presently structured anywhere in the world. First, I think taxation should be done exclusively via consumption taxes and secondly I think that the state should provide welfare in the form of a strings-attached negative income tax, where the recipients then use the funds to buy privately provided services and goods like food, e.g.
    October 10 11:49 AM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd I also appreciate that you recognize the "radical progressive brigade" on this site and how that can play into my demeanor at moments. IIRC you experienced something similar in one of Storm's police brutality threads.
    October 10 11:46 AM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Yeah I phrased my questions to you as such to avoid label confusion but if that's all you think should be state controlled that's actually pretty low state involvement tbh. I mean I'm ultra libertarian and I think the state should enforce property rights, i.e. courts/police/army/EPA. I suspect we'd definitely disagree pretty greatly on government's proper role in education though, especially higher education.
    October 10 11:45 AM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Also I would like to say that if I seem irritated on political threads on this site from time to time please keep in mind how faaaaaaaaaaaar removed people like myself and Futures are from the greater userbase and allow that it sometimes feels equivalent to a progressive trying to debate a pack of Alabama rednecks. I get annoyed and can be a bit curt.
    October 10 11:10 AM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Just curious, which aspects of life do think would be best handled by government rather than private means? Additionally, what percentage of an individual's income given to taxation do you consider "too much" if any?
    October 10 11:05 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm a bit of a sucker for all the americana trappings, I guess we all have our tolerance levels for different varieties of cheese - and U2 certainly bring their own distinct brand of cheese but I'm starting to get it I think. I heard their music so much as a kid I'll probably give up all resistance out of nostalgia soon enough.
    October 9 10:49 AM
  • DoofusWainwright U2 I'm liking more than I used to, parts of that album I really, really enjoy (not to far away from The Bends) and others I don't (reminds me of Coldplay). You know just cos you shoutboxed me in the middle of buying my usual selection of cheap/second hand CDs on Amazon I chucked a 40p copy of the album in there. I'll live with it a bit and see how I get on. The William Tyler is great, I've only just started listening to Fahey so it's interesting to see any similarities.
    October 9 10:41 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Yeah I'm not sure how, sometimes I shoutboxed to remind people who'd already taken part a new list was up but I didn't advertise for newbies to join. I'll tell you when the first semi final one goes up, going to allow people to rec an album for every year on that one so should be interesting considering people have already rec'd a first wave of albums for those years.
    October 4 07:32 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Recageddon
    October 4 07:22 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Just been doing my rounds checking a few user's 2016 ratings to catch up on any stuff I've missed, you're on that list along a few others. I've been concentrating on my rec competition/lists so it's me being lazy I suppose - you had some great stuff in there in the Niechec, The Hue and the Faunts releases.
    October 3 12:41 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Surprised you're surprised I'd like that one, it's a bit like Broken Social Scene at their most restrained and a little more ambient
    October 3 12:01 PM
  • iloveyouall sorry, my bad. got sidetracked by the girl.
    September 22 11:48 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Yeah I keep joking he and Frank Ocean will end up making the exact same album in four years time
    September 22 07:22 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Nice Songs: Ohia rating. I guess I shouldn't get too excited about the new Bon Iver then, this year has really delivered and I was hoping that would be another classic/near-classic
    September 22 07:10 AM
  • TheSpaceMan Oh yea if I came off as saying leftist views are bad i didnt mean to. I was just pointing out how there is a dominant ideology on sput, and that it happens to be liberal. I have no problem with people having any viewpoint as long as you can hold an intellegent conversation or arguement about it and not be a dick about it
    September 21 10:41 AM
  • TheSpaceMan damn wise points there, the community isnt built on political beliefs so it eliminates biased encouragement from your peers. though a lot of sput is liberal from what Ive noticed, it isnt as bad as it could be with the way people react to differing opinions
    September 21 10:22 AM
  • TheSpaceMan dude I just want to thank you for that insight you posted on that political list. Its honestly how a large number of Americans including myself feel, and its very hard to voice something like that as an American right now because you are dismissed as being part of the problem almost immediately. its really interesting to hear what someone over seas thinks in seeing what we're going thu
    September 21 10:10 AM
  • iloveyouall ty/smae
    September 13 07:34 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I like the work of the David Lynch album collaborator on it and there are some real highlights I think...but I might bump it down, I've only really started listening to it a lot this week and it is quite samey. The Nick Cave is dominating my listening right now and that's maybe a tough comparison for The Veils album
    September 12 12:23 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Listening to the Frank Ocean again - definitely overhyped in so far as it's definitely not top 10 of the year and no way a 4.5-5
    September 11 02:42 PM
  • DoofusWainwright The last song on the Okkervil is nearly as good as those first two
    September 11 10:00 AM
  • DoofusWainwright It's probably the worst time the Frank Ocean album could have come out sandwiched between the Veils, Nick Cave, Cass McCombs and Bon Iver albums. The Okkervil River actually reminds me more of Yellow House era Grizzly Bear than Fleet Foxes, something in the melodies, particularly 'Renee'
    September 10 04:45 PM
  • DoofusWainwright What did you make of the Frank Ocean in the end? - given it two listens and I'll say one thing, it is one of the more unique releases this year. I'll give it more time because it feels like there's something there under the surface, but initially I'm marking it down as 'frustrating'.
    September 10 12:02 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I liked it so much after one listen I actually left the house early so I could pick up a copy before work. Also bought the Okkervil based on the strength of the first two songs, it's a solid album too, much prefer their new direction.
    September 10 11:52 AM
  • Sinternet so i checked it out and it was pretty good, i really liked part 2. I take it that new Okkervil record is worth checking btw?
    September 8 08:41 PM
  • guitarded_chuck cool brother no prob
    September 6 03:07 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I'll definitely check it out, it's one I might have skipped too as I didn't bother with their last album. still haven't listened to the Frank Ocean either, not on Spotify so I'll need to find a stream for it
    September 6 01:55 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm very hot and cold with that band - how do you rate it against their other recent albums?
    September 4 08:44 PM
  • Sowing Oh I will. Is there a stream?
    September 2 03:11 PM
  • robin thank you radical edward
    September 1 11:27 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Also you have a perfect Thank You Scientist rating there
    August 24 05:44 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm on my hols in Lanzarote so haven't checked it yet, what do you think? I've been reading a lot out here, found a copy of Submission in the airport and was really impressed, love Houellebecq's sense of humour. Definitely a book you keep thinking about long after. Just finished Man in the High Castle today, my first Philip K Dick, intriguing stuff too.
    August 24 05:42 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Well the big ones I guess are Frank Ocean and Run the Jewels. You also have Chromatics, maybe Grandaddy, maybe Modest Mouse again, Wild Beasts...there are a few interesting ones in prospect.
    July 8 04:32 PM
  • DoofusWainwright What albums are you most looking forward to second half 2016?
    July 8 03:18 PM
  • guitarded_chuck you tell me

    June 29 07:07 AM
  • DoofusWainwright There's no going back now. I voted remain but I can live with us being out of the EU
    June 25 09:26 AM
  • DoofusWainwright My only problem with this is the vocals don't add much for me. Heather almost has a little bit of a Mogwai 'Young Team's mellow jams vibe in places
    May 28 09:27 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Nice I've just reached those two songs now
    May 28 09:25 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Listening now, it's a bit 'Morrissey fronting a 90's indie rock band'. Sometimes the singing meshes quite well and other times it floats over the music a bit for me. I'll give it a few goes, what are your favourite songs?
    May 28 09:05 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I haven't managed yet, I'll give it a spin sometime this weekend
    May 28 08:42 AM
  • user "Joined 05-24-1930" lol
    May 24 04:01 PM
  • klap lol can't get into it
    May 24 03:57 PM
  • DoofusWainwright It's one of the unintentional funniest - Roger Moore is about 60 fighting a tiger in the jungle before storming a mansion of all-female guards wearing these not very authentic Turkish belly dancer type outfits. Appealed to me as a 14 year old boy
    May 24 08:48 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Dope name #bestBond
    May 24 08:44 AM
  • DoofusWainwright You know first impressions aren't to be trusted - I'll have made some **** ups, that's part of the amusement of that comp
    May 24 08:40 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I've heard of them, another John Peel fave I think, will check them cheers
    May 24 08:39 AM
  • klap 4/5 at least
    May 21 10:53 PM
  • klap yeah i have. the last one was one of my favorites this year. i may review it next week if i have time
    May 21 04:14 PM
  • wtferrothorn posted the car seat headrest review if you want to go check it out
    May 21 03:46 PM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts haha yeah sorry my monthly isnt like clockwork these days i must be pregs. ill rec u some s*** later gotta dip out in a min!
    May 21 06:00 AM
  • iloveyouall music
    May 21 12:56 AM
  • iloveyouall because she's good, duuuuuuh
    May 20 03:13 PM
  • wtferrothorn Probably today or tomorrow. Today is the last day of school, so I've got quite a bit on my plate trying to wrap things up with that. But don't worry, I've already started it. Spoiler: the album is good
    May 20 11:16 AM
  • DoofusWainwright that has to be good, I get the feeling the album will stay a 4 so will definitely return to it, it's nearly pay day so nice timing could even pick up a copy
    May 20 09:24 AM
  • DoofusWainwright the rec sound really good, I mean I think you were probably pretty confident I'd like this one, got half way through but have given it a holding 4 to make sure I don't forget to check it again later
    May 20 09:13 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Not sure why the new Destroyer song 'My Mystery' missed the cut for the latest album, it's better than a fair few songs from 'Poison Season'
    May 18 10:20 AM
  • iloveyouall non-seqitur
    May 16 07:17 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Track 4 is quality too...may have judged too early. Loving that main riff and those strings coming in too...
    May 12 07:40 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Ha, I probably don't have the curiosity for that but it sounded good, is it one of your favourites of the year? The Joe Bonamassa I'll probably like the slower tracks like 'Drive' - straight blues rock is more my old man's taste, I'll probably rec him this, he'd love it
    May 12 07:36 AM
  • DoofusWainwright First impression of Ichiko is it sounds pretty, can't imagine anyone being too offended by it, where can you listen to the full album?
    May 12 07:27 AM
  • DoofusWainwright ok, I'll check that one out instead
    May 12 07:17 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Sell it to me
    May 12 07:16 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Cemetery Breeding is fast becoming my favourite song of the year. Robert Smith must me well jel
    April 20 10:18 AM
  • zakalwe I love it dude. Total quality soundscapes and what have you.
    April 18 07:15 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Ha, 'You Can Dream' I quite like but I can see your point, female singer's vocals are a bit odd in the mix at times. The Chain song just seems a bit repetitive on my initial listens - I wouldn't say either are fall off your chair awful. Solid album. Pleased you say you like the closer because other than the opener that was my favourite song at first. Not surprised you dig this album, I can hear a bit of that Big Blood clean folky vocals/hallucinogenic mystical thing here too - just gone rock
    April 18 06:35 PM
  • DoofusWainwright The opener is huge. Only given the album a first couple of spins but their first two albums had a fair bit of fodder on there too. Did you enjoy the Floyd-ish closer or was that one you thought overstretched them?
    April 18 05:58 PM
  • DoofusWainwright The new Black Mountain surprised me, much tighter album than their earlier ones
    April 18 05:50 PM
  • Ryus word it really is, one of my favorites of the year so far
    April 10 12:13 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Thanks, it's been a great two weeks out here and I managed to really surprise her, she loved it - I'll hit sput with a vengeance next week. What you digging at the moment?
    April 8 06:12 PM
  • Flugmorph hehehehehehe
    April 2 08:51 AM
  • Flugmorph dont u dare come at me with those typical german words.
    April 1 11:17 PM
  • Flugmorph "DEUTSCH!!!!!", raunte ich in sein Ohr.
    April 1 07:34 PM
  • Jots https://rone-music.bandcamp.com/album/vood-oo-ep, http://lobstertheremin.com/album/azadi-ep - i might review these, maybe, possibly
    March 31 03:34 PM
  • Jots stuff i reviewed, lol : ] aside from puce mary i guess. there's a bunch of decent tech/house popping up lately too
    March 31 03:33 PM
  • Jots it's dece, i just don't see myself returning save one or two tracks tbh.
    March 31 03:29 PM
  • wwyd well, i wouldn't mind copping a two-week ban for it, but to ban me and then ignore my requests (well, polite asking) to be unbanned is a bit rich in my books.... but as I said, oh well. and as for denzel curry, no I haven't. I've been meaning to check it out, but I'm so far behind on music this year (uni's keeping me busier than I thought it would), so I'll add it to my rapidly growing list of "stuff to listen to."
    March 30 09:04 PM
  • wwyd it's more of a 1.3 tbh, but since Snox is a s******* I rounded down. :)
    March 30 08:58 PM
  • wwyd i didn't. jom banned/wiped me because i 1d snox's album. he won't unban me either, which is a real bitch because i wanted to make sach my primary reviewing account... oh well.
    March 30 07:24 AM
  • wwyd :)
    March 27 12:27 PM
  • wwyd BOO!
    March 27 08:20 AM
  • Pon Honestly a lot of the site's problems with user conduct could be solved if they just penalised ban evasion. 90% of problem users are on some kind of alt.
    March 25 09:40 AM
  • Pon I can comments and feature lists but only a few of us actually have ban hammerz. If I was a mod I would make Sowing "nazi mod" Season look like Gandhi which is why I'll never have the position heh
    March 25 09:32 AM
  • Pon lol I don't have ban powerz but I would love to see the thread nuked tbh. But yeah no one is going to convince anyone of anything. You're an intelligent guy so don't drag yourself down to their level, nahmsayin?
    March 25 09:28 AM
  • Pon Dude don't get involved in the Islam vs. The World bulls*** on that Bernie Sanders thread, it's really not worth it.
    March 25 08:58 AM
  • JamieTwort Yeah The Sea Swells a Bit is a personal favourite of mine. Nice, will check.
    March 8 08:01 PM
  • wtferrothorn That seems like the general consensus according to the comment on my review, but I personally feel that the rawer tracks are what make the album so oddball and really separates it from its contemporaries. An with Ebony and Ivy, the spoken word part really threw me off guard the first time I heard it, but it really grabs my attention every time I hear it.
    March 7 03:39 PM
  • wtferrothorn No problem man, had a good time reviewing it. You enjoying the record?
    March 7 11:16 AM
  • zakalwe You're probabaly right but I can live with that if we win the league. Come on you spurs!!!!!!
    March 2 01:25 PM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts no worries bruh, i meant to have it out like the second week of january but i just got swept up real quick!
    March 2 07:26 AM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts sorry man. been meaning to. its been a busy new year. spontaneously decided to move to vancouver, get a new job, broke up with my gf, started dating a new woman, i havent had a lot of sput or music time
    March 1 09:47 PM
  • Archelirion Long Season is absolutely stunning dude, thanks for letting me know about it. It's strangely hypnotic, but in a really good way.
    February 14 05:14 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Thanks for the support Ed, you were possibly the very first to call for me to be a contrib and I don't forget that sort of thing ;) Anything impressed you from 2016 that I should give a spin or begging for a review?
    February 13 03:18 PM
  • Archelirion Doing pretty well thanks, nowt bad anyway! How're you? Yeah, that Big Blood album I'm still taking in to be honest, really interesting album! Surprised it didn't get more love on here. I will check that; your recs are normally pretty reliable so I'm sure I'll like it :]
    February 12 09:37 AM
  • JamieTwort Hey man, yeah all good thanks, you? Yeah that Quilt album's been on my radar, is it out yet or has it leaked?
    January 31 10:40 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Ed I'm thinking of applying for contrib this month, the application form is a little off putting though!
    January 27 01:49 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Well I'd love to say we've all been listening to some non-sad stuff but zak stumbled on this album made by this dude called Gavin Clark who died last year - an old one from '98 called Sunhouse 'crazy on the weekend', a few of us have been really getting into that. Sort of folk rock and acoustic with some incredible vocals. As you said, then Bowie died and things took a turn for the sadder round here. Looking forward to new Tindersticks and Shearwater later in the month, though yet more sad-core
    January 14 02:14 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Have you just returned to the site? What you been digging recently?
    January 14 01:48 PM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts yeah it turned out very good altho the first song threw me off cuz there is some seriously basic post rock bulls*** in there. would have liked it a bit more without moments like that but its jaga so i guess i cant really expect them to do without that
    January 14 05:39 AM
  • Archelirion Tbh, I'd have done the same thing. I just (until now) haven't really been interested in listening to stuff I'm gonna 95% likely hate. You're a trooper.
    December 29 11:10 AM
  • Archelirion Dude, I'm kinda impressed you sat through enough Fetty Wap to give it a rating! We're obviously missing something that the rest of the world is 'getting' :/
    December 28 10:15 PM
  • SachikoM yeah, i've added a bit for you to get to.
